PTS event 3 - thoughts/comments

First and foremost i must say the reffing was top notch. Where the Nppl refs are easily tricked, and the PSP refs make **** up. And of PTS tournaments 5 years ago horribly biased reffing. Everything here was perfect. No BS calls, nobody got away with anything (that i saw), and they all seemed to be very much on the ball. By far the best reffing i have played under/seen.

While the schedule was off, i think this was because of the decision to mix divisions at the last minute. While people complained, mixing divisions is not that uncommon. If you are in the AM devision and you get smashed by the young guns, you will have less points than the AM teams that did not get smashed by the young guns, and as you should. While i understand things were rearranged at the last minute, a specific time for every game is preferable. Overall the schedule was not an issue, and refs were compassionate to teams having to play back to back games.

The venue was great. But everyone knows that i expect. Looking forward to PSP Aldie.

My only complaint. Dont have a field paint only tournament and only have ****ty paint for sale. I know of the vast amounts of paint available at the procaps warehouse. Certainly it cannot be so difficult to have a stack of some decent tournament grade stuff at your own tournament. How am i supposed to shoot you out with my pump gun if my paint wont shoot straight or break? While it is a complaint, its certainly not going to keep us away. At the very least we'll bring a couple of our own cases of silver next time.

Well done. Big props to the reffing staff.

I'll second the paint complaint. I think it's fine to have FPO but it can't be hard to get some decent tourney paint to the tourney.

I understand that you encourage people to buy paint from the shops but we drove two hours up to play the tourney, there was no way to either get paint on the way or get it beforehand.

One other thing that would have been nice would have been an overall schedule of who was playing who not just a list of who you were playing.

Outside of those two comments, I think it was an excellent event. Reffing was top notch (thanks guys) games moved along well, the dudes with the clip boards were very tolerant when we were trying to figure out who was next.

Thanks Pevs...we'll be back.

At the field the only paint forsale is the Pevs Premium.

If you are too far away from the shops to buy paint, if you pre pay for it they can have what you want waiting for you.

The exception right now is Gold. I doubt there will be any more gold until the spring as we have a minium skid purchase deal for getting that Pevs logo on teh balls. You cant just say I need 20 case, it more like 2 skids a wack as I recall.

Silver should have been avaiable at all the proshops.

anyway I am glad you all had fun and will be back.

Same here.

And yeah, the reffing was great as usual. I liked the field layout alot. With all those bunkers, it gave teams several options on how to play the field. The day went a bit long with only 2 fields, but on the plus side, we got to watch a few more games as well.

Reffing was excellent as usual. You guys take your job seriously but are very freindly and respectful. Ben, I have to use your pack from now on, I know I bought your other one, call it superstition hahaha.

True but at least you got to play all your games on turf

What exactly is Pevs Premium? We saw at least three different types of paint behind the counter and the woman said something about white box.

Good to know for next time. I kind of wish someone had mentioned that when we signed up.

If the Pevs is out of stock then they use WB as I recall.

I try to keep out of some of the field stuff, I just have to make sure the books are straight at the end of the month

Mouth Shark had a blast up there, the reffing was definitly top notch, the layout is smaller than we are used to, but ended up playing very well.

We hadn't been to the facility until the event, and it was just great. Indoor, real bathrooms for the girls (very important when all of our girlfriends want to come to watch). Food that doesn't taste like garbage. And the turf was in amazing condition, and for finals it was just amazing.

On behalf of Team Mouth Shark we just want to say thank you for the event, to the refs, the field, and more importantly the players. Friendly games are without a doubt the most fun.

We will be back, and most likely have 2 or 3 teams entered in AM next time.

No problem man. We understand the schedule is a little nuts, so it's no big deal. We are trying to move the games along to get you guys through the day as quick as possible, but we don't mean to make it any more hectic then it already is. So just let us know if you need a minute to get air, wipe off, etc, and you have it.

And thanks again everyone for the reffing comment, it is appreciated.

The Rock n' Cocks had a blast playing with everyone. There seemed to be good sports all around and the refs were very solid. The event was pretty well run with the minor exception of the schedule mix up. I'm sure we would be willing to come back for future events and look forward to playing against everyone again.

I will echo the big thumbs up to the reffing staff!!! John and Megan are doing their best to put on a good series and the events have been awesome to play!

My only real grip is the overall series "prizes". First place for a 5 event series is only the equivilant of $200.00 dollars. WOW!!! I know that times are tight but that seems pretty chincy for the number of teams that have been paying to come out.

We pay nearly that much in gas to drive several SUVs up to play each event.

Everything else (turf, reffing, turf, overall organization, reffing, and turf) has been GREAT!

I wish after prelims we could have played each of the OTHER 5 teams that made it instead of just the 1st and 3rd place teams twice, because of that we ended up 5th when we went 8-1 in the prelims...
