Workout Help: swimming

Hi, my HS swim season starts in a few weeks and I was wondering if there were any swimmers in here that could tell me what lifts I should do and how often I should do them to increase my speed/strength. I swim free/fly.
Thanks

If you're doing buttefly, you're probably going to need to do chest. Do bench press, incline press, stuff like that. Swimming usually requires shoulder and chest strength.

Bench press is one of the worst lifts to do as a swimmer. Lots of shoulder work, and leg work is required for swimming. Not so much heavy lifting but light weights high reps. I swam D1 fly/free so if you have any other questions just ask.
