Has there been any word on how the Geo has shot in cold weather? I loved shooting my nd nxt but it was a better summer gun.

I don't think anyone's had an opportunity to shoot one in cold weather yet... historically spools haven't performed the best in the cold, but we'll see.

We (well 7lash actually) have been testing both the Ego9 and the Geo in conditions so cold that you can't actually hold the marker so i reckon this beast is gonna handle the cold just fine

The geo is supposed to require very little lube in comparison to other spools and also has fewer friction points. I would assume it would atleast perform better than most other spool designs in the cold.

I live in Montana and am planning on getting one so I suppose time will tell.

Yea, one reason i went to the ego over my old DMs was the cold. Living in WI it gets chilly and last weekend i brought out my ego when it was 38 degrees and it shot beautifully still. No way would my old spoolys be able to do that.

Antartica? 7lash was in Iceland..... in the frozen pizza cabinet.....

Sorry, that's a joke that may only work in the UK.

On a serious and somewhat related note, we've now heard that the Geo has no issues with cold weather, but how about another issue that some spool valves have (Shocker for instance) - problems functioning correctly at low velocity. With dwell or HPR presssures lowered for indoor play or Reball use, Shockers can suffer from bolt stick issues.

I'm guessing that with less o-rings, and consequently less chance of bolt stick, that this shouldn't be an issue, but I just wondered if any tests had been carried out that would confirm this?

Obviously Nicky and Jack aren't around to answer right now, but it would be interesting to hear the results of any low velocity testing at some point.

No offense but you live in orlando man. That isn't exactly going to give us a good idea of how the marker does in the cold lol. Congrats on the new guns though.

Maybe someday I can give one a real test. I live in Kodiak AK, play year round outdoor here. Last winter, I was shooting a NXT shocker in 5* weather with no issues. I bet that the Geo will outperform that!

WTF. 5* weather. Was not aware that the shocker could do that.

I was amazed too. I can tell you that DM/PM's do not work in that temp, nor do gen4 or older timmies (oh yeah, Ions dont work either. Bolt stick like nothing else). Vikings, angels, Ego's, Borgs, Marqs all work ok.

The only gun that malfunctioned like no other was my PM5 a while back and it was real bad. My friends shocker kept blowing o-rings. I hope this can do well.
