Good to hear. The hotel is on site and you walk from your room with your gear bag to the new events center.

We are taking things to a new level for this year. With the PSP team, the NYPL. It's time to "give back" and not rob the players. Investing a lot of money into the renovations and new outdoor complex.

We are treating the NYPL as a completely seperate entity. We will run the events but the owners will have a big say (steering committee anyone???) in how the league will progress and be the staple for not only NY team but surrounding states as well. From the start I followed a simple idea. Give the players the best possible venue and events, give them a say and a part of it and let it run from there. Players seem to be embracing that idea and with other leagues heading in the other direction I am honestly proud to have the backing to be able to take this course.

And to end the sappy business story....

I cant wait to announce the 8 teams in February and see the all the players at event 1!!

Sounds good Ken. I know personally that you're a great paintball guy and know how to give back and please the people who play at Headrush.

Its gonna be a good time running the events and watching the teams battle it out, going to the PSP events with the guys (NYPL Refs). All in all its going to be a fun year and ill be able to be more "apart" of it which will be a cool thing.

The response has been crazy in the last couple weeks. Ryan and I have been very busy talking with a lot of interested teams.

paintball3r12 - You got a team or playing on one?

Well... I'm not sure what I'm doing yet. I had an offer from one team, my old team might want to play, or depending on how things work out I might be able to play with Powersurge. I'm not sure yet but I hope to be playing one way or another.

I'm really interested in doing this but I don't think I have 10 guys I can trust to show up and play because I looked at last years schedule and some of the events were 2 weeks apart and that can clock up to almost $500 for a psp format event per player

You only need to pay for paint, travel and food. For the average player that is only $125-$150 per event.

1. Yes there will be a discount on hotel. For example current Rate is $89.99 with HeadRush keyword. Current rate for average customer: $119.99. There will be a NYPL keyword created and distributed to the owners.

2. I hope to have a QSL discount and or coupon for the players but that is not set in stone yet. Either way there will be some "incentive" from the QSL for the players.

3. All dates are currently tentative. These are the dates we would like to use but we have to wait primarily for PSP to release theirs before we can lock in our final dates. We expect this to be at or around the January 1st, 2009 or sooner.

4. Event Paint will be the same for the season so you can always use the event paint at any event.

5. We will have a dedicated NYPL staff to run the events. Each staff member will be on payroll and thus treated as a normal employee. There will be no "wannabees" running the NYPL so you should see and expect a high level of service.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

We will not be using the APPA system. There is no need for this event as we are only pulling for NY and area states and it is the highest level of play. There will be ID cards for access to the field, pits player area though.

We have teams from Canada and Connecticut talking to us so there is no limitation on where you live.

We are talking to 12 teams right now. 4 have signed up.

We ran a pilot last year and went great. Worked out some things and changed some things to bring it back this year, outside in the summer in a brand new custom built stadium just for this series. The guys running this event have countless years of experience playing as well as running events. They have created staple events that get 30-60 teams multiple times every year and run without a hitch. I have full confidence in the crew and honestly I feel lucky to have them running this. I wouldnt trust anyone else to run the best possible event the area can offer at a price people cant believe!

this season will be amazing, cant wait. The people running the events do an amaizing job, i have no doubt this season will run smoothly, and will be worth the very few pennies you pay, and many more!!!
