Hey Jack,
Just to start off, thanks for really keeping up with all the threads and giving good quick replys, I know you have to be crazy busy with the new guns and Cup, so as a PE owner I just wanted to say thanks.
On to my question, about the weight of the bolt, why is it so much heavier then the Deadlywind Ion bolt, I think they are both aluminum though I could be wrong. So I just wasnt sure why one is 18g and the other 7.4g
Just wondering if this is something we could see changed in the future and would lowering the bolt that much more in weight have a big difference, such as kick and efficiency?

Thanks Jack
and cant wait for my Ninga and Pink lady Geo to arrive!

In the "Introducing The Eclipse Geo" Thread, in the 1st post fourth paragraph from Target Indy it says less than 18g, so is 8g the actual weight?

17.6g with o-rings.

The construction is different. I have never seen a HP bolt in person, but I would guess that it is shorter than the Geo bolt, and looking at the picture of it, it lookslike it has thinner wall sections at the front of the bolt.

The Geo bolt is longer, in order to accommodate the longer stroke of the bolt, which allows us to put the ramped surface at the front of the bolt. The wall thickness is greater in the front section so that we have a consistent cross-sectional area for the air path from the release o-ring on the Porpshaft right through to the ball in order to minimize pre-expansion of air through the bolt.

Hope that answers your question.

I do not believe that a lighter bolt will in any way improve efficiency. And the amount of kick reduction will be negligable. When you get down to these weights, the act of firing the ball produces 90-something% of the kick in the gun, not the bolt reciprocating.
