I don't mind running on a treadmill but it kinda feels unnatural.

you got some fast times. i see that the background in your pic is of golden gate in SF. That's where my XC team trained everyday, I go to Saint Ignatius in the Sunset. Are you in college or in HS? Either way you probably know crystal springs.
Just ran it in 17 38 today. Big improvement considering my first 3 mile of the season was 19 45. This is my first year running and I'm a senior. Wish I started Freshman year.
But as for a question. My mile PR in track last year, first year of running, was 5 24. My first mile in a 5k during XC was 5 42, went out wayyyyy to fast. I want to break 4 55 in the mile. My XC season just ended today. What do you think I should do over the winter to get in shape for track. My coach tells me to lay off any running for 3 weeks since Ive been running since June, but hasnt told me workout specifics. Any tips would be awesome.

ok i know your school then. and i know crystal springs. ran a 16:20 there and had to fight for every second.
and take two weeks off and just start doing some base work. build to your high point of xc for the start of track. dont worry about speed work at all just focus on form and getting a nice arobic base in

So what do you think about when you're running? Cus every time I run, all I can think about is how miserable I am

Music is my savior.
Run outdoors and look at people.
Run in interesting places and look at the scenery.
Music.
In other news...
I have been running for about 3 years and after a 7 mile run yesterday I came home and stretched to cool down. After a shower and meal I started to feel a shooting pain deep within the center of my foot. It was pretty incapacitating and I was unable to walk for a few hours. It eventually resided but it is still pretty sore today.
Any ideas of what might have happened?

They throw them from Sidney, Australia one day. Two days later the boomerangs come back from Iraq.
288 confirmed kills.
I heard before they hit you, you hear the screams of a thousand kangaroos.
The Iraqi's fearfully call them "the butchering dingos"."

I do HIIT on the treadmill and the music cancels out my negative "oh god I'm dying" thoughts.

When I run on the treadmills at the gym in my dorm. There's a tv in front of them, so I normally watch the travel channel while I run. I don't have an armband for my iphone so i don't want to have to run with it in hand. Therefore, I just watch tv and it works.

My armband disappeared from my truck yesterday, I pulled a classic Darth Vader NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO out and went into the gym and had to live with the TV.
Least I don't have to wear a headband anymore now that I cut my hair lol, that **** was gay.

While running with people, I talk and usually my team has funny rap battles, shabooyahs, or whatever the topic may be. When I'm not running with anyone else I almost always listen to music unless I wanna be alone and just collect my thoughts.

*sigh* I think I've found my problem. You can't listen to music on base while running outside and I find nature rather boring.

Screw that. Too much work. Plus, none of the beaches on base are long enough to really run on.
Meh, I'll just run up KT a ton
