he'll be the only one not graduating from our 4x8 and things dont look so good right now for it next year unless some kids step up big time. He'll just be so nasty next year lol
and very nice man thats pretty sick, so many people in like the first heats were upsetting higher seeded times...it was so much fun watching everything play out

wow i dont understand how people can run and maintain speed for an entire mile.
when i was in HS wed have to run a mile in PE everyday, and at the end of the year running the mile was barely easier.
what are good techniques (eating, stretching, breathing, etc) for 1-2 mile runs for someone that sucks at running?
im 5'7" 130 btw.

"And too there were the questions: What did he eat? Did he believe in isometrics? Isotonics? Ice and heat? How about aerobics, est, ESP, STP? What did he have to say about yoga, yogurt, Yogi Berra? What was his pulse rate, his blood pressure, his time for the 100-yard dash? What was the secret, they wanted to know; in a thousand different ways they wanted to know The Secret. And not one of them was prepared, truly prepared to believe that it had not so much to do with chemicals and zippy mental tricks as with that most unprofound and sometimes heart-rending process of removing, molecule by molecule, the very tough rubber that comprised the bottoms of his training shoes. The Trial of Miles; Miles of Trials. How could they be expected to understand that?"

I ahve an ankle injury thats destroying my training. I hit 43 miles with a couple of speed workouts and a mountain throw in there before I went on a four day retreat for school. Came back and ran 3 then 6 the next day on cement. Dunno what happened but now my ankle hurts like a mofo. This sucks.

If this has already been covered i apologize, but any help would be much appreciated. Im in pretty good shape 5'11, 150lb and ive recently been getting somewhat bad knee joint pains. My job causes me to be walking around on my feet all day and i run about a mile 3-4 times a week as well as paintball. What should i be doing to prevent injury and further pain in my knees?

get off the cement and onto a softer surface. also invest in a medical band and start doing ankle exercises

I normally just run on the treadmill in my dorm, which has TVs right in front, so I normally just watch travel channel or something.

hey guys im not the running type (6'3" 277) but im in the process of losing about 40 pounds and am running 2 miles in the morning every day (running 1.5 miles of it and cooling down with .5 mile fast walk) and at night i go to a local high schools track and run 1.5 miles (walk first lap to warm up, run 4 laps, cool down with another walk lap) I do this every day 7 days a week, is this too much cardio for my body? Just asking because i have heard people say too much cardio can be bad for you at times.

You absolutely can have too much cardio for a given set of goals. Overdo it and you lose significant portions of muscle along with the fat you lose. If you want to look like a stringy endurance athlete, then yeah, there's no such thing as too much. But if you don't think you can overdo cardio then you my friend, are the moron.
And personally, I think 7 days a week probably is overdoing it. Give yourself a day or two off at least. You can get away with low intensity daily a lot of times but if you're really giving it a good run and keeping your intensity up than every day probably is a little overboard. Don't be afraid to try a few HIIT style workouts. They're great at burning fat and maintaining muscle.

I'm in the Marine Corps. I can't wear headphones in PT gear or if I'm on a road. So, I can run the ponds and take the headphones out the last mile. Its gay.
