VL Triton II low velocity... making into spump

got the bright idea to make a spump out of this first gun since i should have some sort of use. with the velocity screwed all the way in i average about 250. granted when i make it a spump i think it will shoot back up as all the air will be going out the bolt and not into recocking it, but im wondering what i can to to bring the velocity back up. LMK thanks

are you only adjusting the hpr? At a certain point, air will just shut the poppit quicker and you have to adjust the springs

Its a spyder clone, so it's a blowback. Try a different spring and that should help.

its pumped = no blow back

try uping the HPR if you have one or if the main spring isnt long/strong enough a stronger spring may be needed (assuming the input pressure isnt the culprit)

i did it with my vlII i ended up having to get another spring but don't change anything until you have finished your project because the spring will be a little strong since its not pushing the bolt anymore

He hasn't turned it into a pump yet.

If you do not want to spump it, just get a stronger main spring. Any Spyder type spring kit will work.

Alright I'll try the spring, I imagine when I make it into a pump that would help as well but we shall see.

It's not pumped yet = blow back.

But I can almost guarentee it needs a spring, check ebay and you'll find some.

OR, you could stick a reg on it and just turn it up. Cuz you dont really want a strong spring on a pump if you want a light pump stroke

Get a reg and a spring kit and sweet-spot it. Some times increasing the input pressure lowers the velocity because it mimics a stronger valve spring.

Mecha Godzilla: the bolt don't move because it's a spool-valve prototype thingy.

It's a spyder clone... It's all metric... Unless you know any fittings that go from metric to standard.

putting a spring kit in there will help.

polishing the internals (metal moving parts) will help

spumping it (correctly) will help... being that there is no more blowback.

doing the swoop bolt mod will help.

utilizing a correct paint/bore match will HELP ALOT.

after doing every single one of those things, you should be able to hit very high in the fps area.

once i did all that (besides spump) i was able to hit the high 300's (about 370 or so). so i backed out the main spring and got it to 300... then i increased the lpc's volume, regged it, and was then running at 290 +-5.

pm me if you have any questions.

Just put a red pirahna spring in it (after shortening it to fit the gun) and it shoots fine now, almost done with the pump modification, will post pics if anyone is interested.

the swoop mod and polishing the internals costs maybe 10$

and a spring kit was also mentioned.

and sundraggons results showed that the swoop mod gave an average increase of 6 fps and better consistency as well... not to mention the fact that its been proven time and time again that polished internals make the gun cycle faster (and more efficiently).

also, the lpc being drilled would cost absolutely nothing if you already have the supplies.
