Why dont you just start buying some VHS tapes and a player from the flea market for $2.
First off. You're and idiot. Second off, you're stupid.
Point one: You can find Blu Ray players for sub $200 when Amazon runs sales. Even when they aren't, you can get one for $250. Do you remember how much DVD players cost when they first came out? God forbid if you got one with a DVD and VHS capabilities, you might have had to take out a second mortgage.
Second point, Blu Ray movies are generally only about $5 more then their DVD counterpart. If you pay more, then you are simply a moron. Sometimes you can catch them on sale for about the same price as the DVD, or even cheaper! Blu Ray movies are usually about $20-25 (even as less as $15. unless you shop at places like Best Buy, who just anally rape customers on everything anyway. and they dont even call you the next day!) Blu Ray movies that are over $25 (usually $27.99) are the Special Editions, which at the same time, they are charging at least $20 for the DVD anyway.
Heres a good example. Amazon.com usually has the best prices on DVDs and Blu Rays alike.
Ironman 2 disc collectors edition DVD - $22.99
Blu Ray counterpart - $25.95
Hrmmm... which one should I buy? Save the $3 and just use my upconverting DVD player because "Its pretty much the same thing" NOTHX!
Sure you can go to places that charge $35 MSRP on Blu Rays. But you wouldnt pay MSRP for a DVD either, so why would you a Blu Ray.
Please. Take your blu ray hate somewhere else. This is a battle you wont win.
