What food is Cleveland famous for?

My buddies and I get together every week for Monday night Football. Whoever's house we go to is in charge of food and drinks and it is supposed to be tied in with the teams that are playing in the game. I have week 6 which is NYG at Cleveland. I've already gotten the NY aspect fo the meal taken care of, but I have no clue as to what Cleveland is famous for.

Can anyone help me out with some suggestions? Besides a Cleveland Steamer, that is.

due to the high immigration of polish people back in the day, i understand that peirogi and kielbasa are fairly well known there.

also that is actually a really good idea you and your friends came up with.

Use sausage for food style steamer. Would be humorous.

Well, I'm already doing Hot Dogs for NY. I actually am ordering a bunch of stuff from the distributer in NYC that supplies all the Sabrett's Hot Dog Carts in the city. I am ordering a kit from them of 24 Hto Dogs, 6 Pretzels, 12 Knishes, Sauekraut, Mustard and Onions. The exact stuff they sell on the carts.

What about drinks? Anything special, like a particular beer or cocktail?

Oh, and thanks Chrisfromnj. This is our third year and it just keeps getting better.

Examples. I had Dallas Philly in week 2. I made spicy chicken nuggets and taquitos with a ranch/salsa dipping sauce for the appetizer, Tex Mex Cheese Steaks (compete with jalapenoes and nacho cheese) for the main course. The beverages were Bud Light Lime. and S'mores Nachos for dessert.

Last night we went to Adams for the Baltimore Pittsburgh game. He made Crab Au Gratin (Baltimore is famous for crab) for the appetizer. The drinks were Miller High Life (in honor of the Pennsylvania Coal Miners) and some drink called a Rootbeer Slinger made with spiced rum, Galliano and lime that tasted like rootbeer (apparently they're popular in Baltimore) And "Rothlis-Burgers" for the entree. we were too full for dessert.

I can honestly say as a life long Browns fan the only things being consumed in quantity that day will be cyanide and bourbon. This season is enough to make everyone in Cleveland want to kill themselves.

Beverages: Great Lakes Brewing Company
Food: I have no idea. According to Wikipedia and some other, less reliable sources, pierogis and kielbasa are pretty big. I would agree with that I suppose, I remember eating them all the time as a kid.

I'll definitely do up some Pierogies then.

Our main group is 4 guys and whoevers house its at has the option of inviting more.

In the years prior we just rotated in order so everyone hosted once a month. But this year we got together and had a draft to pick which weekends we wanted. Thought it woudl be fair in case someone had a specific recipe they wanted to make or an idea for something cool or if they knew they woudl be out of town that week. Plus it gave us an excuse to go out for beers while we picked our weeks
