I remember on the 1st guitar hero one of the jokes on the loading screen was "Why have a bassist? Save room and get a mini-fridge instead." I lol'd.

i would imagine that guitars seem smaller than basses because guitars actually are smaller than basses?

so rumor has it that the digitech bass synth wah is being discontinued... a guy on talkbass said that the gc buy him was selling them for $20. im calling my store after school to see how much they have them for, if they have them at all. the other store by me has one, but he charges an arm and a leg for stuff. hes for a new bp-50 with a $100 tag on it... musiciansfriend still has them for $90, and the gc site doesnt have them

rickenbacker... do want, cant afford. and it doesnt look like the kind of bass that would meet 100% of my needs, sadly. couldnt see myself playing one either, and right now i dont think i have skill enough to reasonably warrant buying a bass that nice. well, ive already got $85 this paycheck, payday in 2 weeks. i should have about $250 if im lucky next paycheck, so it will be buy time! yay! birthday wednesday, and pending paintball gun offer. may be able to finish my pedalboard sooner than i thought, especially if i buy used
AND the opeth concert is in 7 days. OH MY GOD!!!!! almost ****ting my pants with anticipation

Dayum. I've never been a big fan of the way they play and feel (hate the neck), but Rics are the nicest looking basses bar none.

Whatcha got on the ole board?
Mine is still the same as always, MXR 10 band EQ, Russian Muff, Dunlop 105Q, EHX small stone.
I sold all of basses a wee bit back except my steinberger. I need a thin neck with high fret access, So my thunderbirds had to go. all 3 of em, I pulled in about...2500 I think? from them. But I needed stuff, So that went down to around 1300 real fast.
the only reasons I can justify a rickenbacker is:
A) band now has gigs, why not?
B) I need a thin neck, high access
C) ****ing love the tone of rics
It pretty much meets all my needs, and it looks plain BA.
Sadly, I'm poor, and have other important issues to attend, So bass is kinda going on the back burner. Alot of band drama is going on. Who knew that trying to date the manager would be so tough eh?

When I play bass I want it to feel like a bass not a guitar, but those Rics are damn sexy.
How is the MXR eq? I was going to get one but I wasn't sure if it would be okay on bass.

It works perfect on any instrument really. It goes down to 31hz I believe. I have the KFK model with 2 outputs, Bi-amping is pure win.
gzinthehood - Bongos are also sex in bass form. If I don't get a ric, I'll be getting a bongo
