Endall Which is the best marker to start with? (The VS thread)

This should settle all the reposting of threads that look much too similar...

If you see another gun which you feel is important please post and I will add it to the poll...

edit--This thread originally was a poll. But has morphed into a normal thread.

Feel free to discuss and compare markers to you're blue in the face. This is the place to ask which marker is better between two or more markers, or what's better for a certain price range.

I have spyders, older models as my markers I let my friends and other new people use so they don't have to rent. I was thinking of using Vibe's instead because that way I wouldn't have to have aa many of the plastic elbows laying around. Is the Vibe as reliabe as the spider? Basically I am looking for another marker that can use CO2 and doesn't need a elbow, is cheap and may or may not be electronic.

i was just wondering. wat makes a ego (any year) better than a PMR w/ Ul frame, CP reg, sticky grip, clamping feedneck, virtue eyes, and a aluminum back cap. other than weight?

Because egos have all the hype. They are nice guns, but look how much more $ you're gonna shovel out for them.

The PMR isn't a bad starting gun. I use one as my back up, and love it. With the clamping feedneck, and new back cap, you'll be fine!

you gun will have alot less kick, and will shoot smoother than any ego.....

the reason so many people love ego's is that they are SO reliable, and they need little to no maintenance...
And when you play competive paintball, you can't risk your gun going down on ya...

and the other reason is the efficiency....
pro's shoot alot of paint, they don't want dropoff because they ran out of air. pro's often times can shoot up to 8 or 9 pods.... and if you had a pmr, you couldn't do that....

Not really my first guns but I can't decide between a PM7 Etek or Etek 2.

Is there really a significant difference between the Etek and Etek 2?

i have shot both an etek, and an etek2 and i dont think there is much of a diff... i personally have an ETEK and i love it...but the 2 has a little better milling and a 2 piece barrel

Vibes are a great step up from the Spyders'. Especially if you play woods or senario type games. Your getting a electronic tournament style marker at an affordable entry level price. The gun shoots fast and smooth, pretty quiet too. The best thing about using this electropnumatic gun is that you can use CO2 on it! Most all other guns like this you cant or shouldnt. Take a look at the videos @ www.smartparts.com.

PMR is an excellent entry level tournament style marker. The gun shoots fast out of the box, but you have to put a lot of upgrades on it to get it close to even an Etek, the UL frame for example. Then most people upgrade that little stock Proto barrel and the cheap feed neck. The Eteks would be the equivalent to a Proto Matrix. The PMR's are a Proto Matrixs baby brother.

Nope, theres no noticable difference between the Etek and the Etek2. You can pick up Eteks pretty cheap now that the 2 is out. Find a good Etek with the Zick kit on it and you got a sweet gun.
Deciding between a PM7 and and Etek is a matter of taste. Both are pretty equal.
If your interested Ive got a lightly used DM6 for sale in my store. $400.00

(not as a starting gun, as an upgrade)
which would be best. An invert mini, syndacite misfit, or f8 with UPs?

why?

thanks

^ never heard of a syndacite misfit.
But between the two id choose the mini because its lightweight and is very easy to maintain.
The f8 also very easy too maintain but the dipswitch board is annoying. Also it chops balls like nothing else it is very picky on paint or it will chop.
overall id choose the mini. but the best thing too do is go out see which feels best in your hands.
