Due to the numerous request on how to open a paypal dispute, i have decided to make a Paypal Claim for Dummies. If anything is unclear or requires further details please let me know and i will address them accordingly.
I have put a red box around the areas you need to click along with notes beside them. ALSO. i take no responsibility for any of the info posted below. i am posting them as reference and am not responsible for any wrong or misleading info.
So you have a problem and have been instructed to file a paypal dispute. Where or How do I do that? This guide should be a step by step process to filing your dispute.
Go to www.paypal.com
Click on the "Resolution Center" icon in the toolbar under My Account.
Click on the Dispute a Transaction button located below the Report a Problem Section
Click on the type of problem you are having. in this case i have chosen to select an Item Not Received Dispute and click continue.
Click on the Find a Transaction button. It should open another window.
DO NOT TYPE ANYTHING IN THE BOX TO THE LEFT OF IT.
Find your transaction in the window that has popped up. Once you find the transaction in question, click on the Transaction ID. I have shown the area i would have clicked by putting a red box around the Transaction ID.
After clicking on the Transaction Id, the pop up window should close and insert the transaction Id like the picture below.
At this screen you should select the reason for filing your dispute. if you have not received the item then select the first option. Otherwise it should be the one below it.
Next, you should select the category that this dispute falls under. Please note that the picture below shows the drop down box extended. After you select the category, you need to give ALL
the details about the transaction including any conversations between you and the seller. This is the most important part of the dispute.. the more facts and details you supply, the better your chances of winning.
You have now filed a dispute.
HOW TO ESCALATE OR ADD TO DISPUTE
Go to www.paypal.com
and log into your account.
Under the resolution center box ont he right, click on Open Disputes & Claims link.
Find your Dispute and click on View.
From here you can post more info about the case if needed. use this area to communicate with the seller. If you feel you have come to an agreement or want to escalate the case, use the links below the post message box.
