Picked up some new 1080 10th anniversary skis today. Brand new with new bindings for $325. Also picked up a $200 jacket for $75.

I love knowing people.

I went to the shop and picked up my skis today and while I checking them over I found a spot where they are delaminating on the tails. I was pissed as all holy hell. I'm gunna use them for the weekend and return them monday. The shop is ordering a brand new pair. They seem to think it occurred during shipping, but I think something happened in the shop because it was a clean rectangular gouge through the cap and into the core.

Booster straps are fantastic.
Race boots hurt, thats how it is. Get custom footbeds, and unbuckle your boots between runs on the chair.
Can't wait to get out on my new skis this weekend. woooooooooooooooooooooo

I'm not sure what skis I want to get. I've got a pair of Salomon's and a pair of Rossignol's that I want to trade in for twin tips. The thing is I'm not sure how much I'll get for them.

Any suggestions on twin tips? I want to be able to ski all-mountain still, as well as being able to do a little park.

Rossi or salomon twins are probably the best for all around skiing. I know my 06-07 scratches took everything i threw at em pretty well in CO.

I'm glad you say that.

looking at those right now. I'm really lost as to what to look for for bindings and boots, too. my bindings right now are alright, but they're certainly not for park. and my boots just suck.

Thats a pretty fat ski...where do you live/plan to ski the most?
The scratch binding is far and away my favorite. Any look/rossi binding is the same thing pretty much. I'll hunt for some skis for ya quick.
this is a SICK deal.

thanks for your help. are the ones you suggested fit for all-mountain? I looked at them earlier and they came across to me as park and pipe-only.

my buddy has a pair of em, I'll be sure to ask his opinion in the next day or two...but my scratches are pretty similar, just older and they ski all over pretty well. Its gonna be hard to find a twintip that is good for everything without sacrificing a lot of park-beneficial features.

yeah, well that should be fine for me. I'm a much better all-mountain skiier than I am park. I'm just getting into park a little more because most of my friends do, and I've wanted some twintips for a while now.

What did you think of your invaders. Thats what I am thinking for later this year or early next year. The only thing that concerns me is their ability to ski the whole mountain. As a park ski, I really cant find anything wrong with them
