from the demo day last year. Hopefully they'll have more twin tips this year, although the slalom skis are fun to play around on.

I beat myself up good today. First day skiing mostly park in a long time. Finally learned how to carve my 3's though, smooth as buttaaaaaa

not sure if this is where i should ask this, but i don't wanna open a new thread and it be a waste; i am going skiing for the first time this spring break and although I am a good and experienced mountaineer and alpine climber, I realized yesterday that i know nothing about skiing. what should a rookie like me absolutely know before hitting the slopes for the first time?

take a lesson or have an experienced friend teach you. Learn to fall, learn to get up. And if you french fry when you're supposed to pizza, you not going to have a good time.

Gonna hit a local shop once the season ends to look for deals.

Just got back from bohemia/the porkies. Its been pretty dry at bohemia, so most everything was pretty tracked out. Regardless of that though, I had a blast there, really steep runs, trees, cliffs here and there(not really enough coverage for much of that though) and it was empty enough that we rarely saw anyone on the way down.
The porkies was pretty sweet too, the regular runs are pretty average groomer stuff, but they offer cat skiing for an extra 20 bucks for the day(came out to 44 total with lift). The cat would bring you up to the very top of the 'mountain' and there was some great snow in the trees, not as steep as bohemia of course, but much less tracked up and still very fun. If you're willing to make the drive to bohemia, make sure to check the snow reports, if they have some its definitely worth going.

I need fatter skis.

Drex, keep an eye on tramdock, they get some good deals on everything.

Take a couple of lessons. It's worth the money in the long run.

And Drex, I don't know much about its performance, but that ski looks pretty sweet. haha.
