The only way you will get legitimate tournament players out to a new field would be to open a full size indoor Xball field. Otherwise, you will be looking at a bunch of in and out rec players that are not consistent business. Without the consistency of good tournament players, the word does not get out to the community that you have a solid field to play at. Happy to hear someone is interested in providing Iowa with a good field to play at. If you want some more information or input shoot me an email at SetherCraze@yahoo.com

First of all, running a business and expecting Iowa tournament paintball players to support your field enough to break even is a joke. You have to appeal to those outside of traditional means...

if youd like to move to a more centralised location in iowa i think you would get quite a bit more business, espically now that AJs wont have speedball. plus there will be more land to make a better sized field, which will appeal to more tournament players. just a thought. i am currently trying to get a field open for speedball to replace Action Jacks' and im trying to talk with brad about it as well. if you think this might be a good idea. PM me and ill fill you in on what ive got. if not good luck to you
thanks

u have to consider his location as well...no one wants to run a field thats over an hour from them?
I also believe....may be wrong....but there are more tourney/speedball players around the CR and IA city area...its not to far from the IA/IL border either so it may even attract some people from IL

Ik you guys need a field out there.
But i think one in CR would get more attention from the CR and IC players, and as stated above some IL players that dont want to drive to Chicago.
Thanks

Its really not worth it. More than half the people posting in this tread wont play at the field anyway. My advice would be to save your money and maybe open up a dog grooming business or something.

its sad to say, but justin is right. half of the people posting in this thread, won't go there more than 3-5 times a year. so not a consistent flow of business.
your best bet would be talk to the actual teams from iowa.

most of the people in this thread are in CR and iowa city area. So im pretty sure if this all works out more than half of them would show up to play there on a consistent basis, especially when the weather gets cooler from september to feburary. Thats when he's going to make most of his money becuase there is only one other place around here thats indoor, and it doesnt feed everyones need as a player. I'm not bashing them by any means but alot of people in the area like airball and im pretty sure if your reading this you will agree with me.
He could also make this a seasonal operation too. Fall-the beginning of march or so when it gets nice out and everyone wants to go play outdoors and get dirty.
thats my 2 cents.

hell i'd go! its closer than Chicagoland indoor....its on the way to AVP so i'd go! i think Genesis as a team would go to in the off season to keep up with practice...i'd talk to the owners of AVP for advice.
so is this field open yet? or is it still in the planning process?

Kraig don't lie, you didn't even come to play today slacker. I don't think it's open since the original poster hasn't said a peep for quite awhile. But if it did open I know that I'd be there almost every weekend and if it were open during the week during like christmas break I'd be there before work everyday.
