has anyone heard of the samsung a860?

amazon has it, and its just like the 950 series, with a blue ToC instead of red.

46" for 1800, not bad...

Unless your willing to spend 2-300 on doing it right and possibly framing off the area your just wasting your time/money

Painting a wall matte whited does -not- cut it, especially with a 1080p projector

My roomates wanted to get a surround sound/home theater system. We are looking for something very cheap(~$200). They want http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16882117255
I was wondering if it would even be worth buying such a cheap system, or if there are be better alternatives to get the most out of the little money we have. We would mainly be using the speakers for music, maybe watch a few movies, and use it while playing xbox

I want to take advantage of the digital audio out on my Macbook. I have a set of Logitech X-540 speakers, and they get me by pretty well.

How could I run optical audio to the X-540's. I know I can get a 3.5mm-to-Toslink cable for cheap, but the X-540's have no optical input. Any ideas? Thanks.

Honestly Durrell, Logitech anythings are not going to have any better quality with digital out running lossless music. I'm sorry man. Is there a reason why you want to run digital out?

^ are the rears in that set wireless?

either way i bet it sounds pretty good, excellent for a small room/home theatre

a friend of mine with a 1 year old XBR4 has a sony home theatre in a box setup similar to that one and it actually works and sounds pretty good, the surround is excellent most of the time and the sub is decent too, id say for it in that price range

decent, but thats only a stereo receiver, only 2 speakers.
drop the center channel and it would probably work good for you.
what kind of room it going into.

So i need some good floor speakers, my price is limited to 200 for 2 floors/satellites but anything that you think you can get under that price range that will fit my needs, then please recomend that.

What i need are some good floors to listen to during get togethers with friends and the like, i want good audio quality, doesnt have to be amazing, but they are going to be main speakers for movies and music. If it helps my room looks like this:

(awesome i know)

Any help is appreciated, thanks.
