My current favorite sushi place is a teensy restaurant in Orlando called Sushi Tomi. The menu is somewhat limited, but what they do have is excellent in freshness and preparation. I think the lunch special is around $12 for 5 pieces of nigari and one roll. And I thought that was a good deal. For $20 all you can eat, I'd have sushi once a week.

down here in sofla there are alot of those places. For like 15 bucks all you can eat sushi bars and food..

I'm in Singapore now, which means good sushi for relatively cheap. i've been experimenting with different places, to find out who has the best price/taste. so far fairprice has the best price (S$9 for a meal), but ichiban sushi has the best variety

yep
sushi is cheap and common down here. I just had an amazing shrimp tempura and eel fashion roll. And it was like 12 bucks too

I haven't good sushi since I started school. There's a place right across the street from my apartment here, but I'm a bit hesitant to try it. Plus my fridge is stocked, so I'd rather not gamble money on some potentially plain sushi.
My favorite is eel, hands down.

Try it once, you'll feel better if you know the outcome. I tried a hole in the wall place near my work a few months ago. Its in a little strip mall next to a beat *** "tuxedo rental" place, and a bagel express. Honestly, best dam sushi and maki I've ever had.

**** yes, this little place around here makes the best dancing eel rolls and eel fashion rolls. I love eel, i hate when people think its gross to eat eel but yet they have never tried it before.

i think every place i go i get a few spicy tuna rolls and some agedashi-dofu. Keeps it cheap but still my favorite. Ive actually made some of my own spicy tuna but the tuna is so expensive its not even worth it. I think it was like $14/lb and i ended up spending more than i would of at a restaurant.

Spider rolls are my weakness. Also, I have been dying to try making my own stuff, but I think I might go to wegmans and try simple things first, and get the rice worked out. Any tips?

The place that is literally at my corner is the best in the neighbourhood and is easily in the top 10 places for sushi I've ever been to. Had a chirashi bowl tonight, a yellow tail roll, and a california roll (its been a while). $24 all in, and its high quality. God I love cheap quality local sushi!

if you plan on getting fish, don't risk it, and make sure to buy pre-frozen. get true sushi rice, and follow the directions, and don't forget the vinegar. just get a bunch of **** and have fun! sushi means rice, therefore it can have anything as a topping/filling.
along the same lines, here's a pic of my latest homemade attempt.

Wow I'm amazed how many times I hear Weggies mentioned on this site. I didn't know there were that many people who knew about it. I guess I'm just used to it having lived in Rochester lol. But yea they'd definitely have everything you need. I love going in there for exotic seafood.
And yes, eel = the best.

Funnily enough, sashimi-grade tuna is regarded to have the highest concentration of mercury than any other fish. In fact, (I forget which group) did tests on canned chunk light tuna, canned albacore, and sashimi-grade-flown-in-the-same-day-you-eat-it-tuna from mega-expensive NYC restaurants, and the latter had the largest amount of mercury, followed by the albacore then chunk light.

Got to say my favourite rolls tend to be ones containing Salmon, Unagi (eel), and Yellow tail. I happened to have worked at a few sushi bars, so I'm a trained sushi roller. I'm just too lazy to go out and buy the necessary pieces to make some from home ahaha
