I read an article on Discovery News that talked about an anomaly detected in a collider in the US. They said if the anomaly turns out to be true/real, it will prove the standard model wrong. They also said it was most likely not the Higgs particle. Has anyone heard anything more on this?
As said it was probably a preliminary result that will pan out to nothing, I did see the headline you speak of but it did not provide details.
I would hope it would be a superpartner, but that seems unlikely.
Really though why the hell is this thread in religion and philosophy? Science should not be paired with two subjects that have never produced a shred of empirical evidence.
