can't go wrong with mixing mac n cheese with some hot dogs. Also, for something different I love Hamburger Helper. That's really it for cheap food for me. Mac n cheese, Hamburger Helper and the occasional spaghetti.

If this gets big I'll edit and organize the first post with all of the food ideas.
Top ramen is getting way too old.
My parents raise chickens so I bake em and can be fed for a whole week (chicken salad, stir frys...)

I remember one night I made chili dogs. Probably cost me ~$7. Chili with no beans, buns and hot dogs. Heat up hot dogs and chili, place dog in bun and coat with chili. Add cheese and hot sauce if you'd like (I did) and enjoy.

Purdue sells really thin sliced chicken which is perfect for the subs. Lettuce, tomatos, and onions are also good on them if you want to spend the time.

Our grocery store has those banquet TV dinners for $1 each. There is another brand I get too that's like $1
Pot pies for 50 cents
bread for $1
peanut butter $3
Jelly $1
canned goods are like 50 cents each
Salad for $2 a bag (like 4 salads in there)
I buy mac and cheese, ramen, spagettios and mushrooms in bulk from Sams
Best dish I make that is quick and very very very affordable:
Pasta salad
Boil some pasta. Strain. Then mix in some italian dressing, mushrooms and cheese (black olives optional). Costs like $2 total but it's so amazing good and filling.
also they sell like chicken legs for crazy cheap at grocery stores. Usually you can get like 4 for $2 or soemthing. broil them then put some bbq sauce on them (like $1) and you have bbq for like $3

I have that book. Its neat-o because it has pictures of what items you need to buy... but honestly I haven't made anything from it. I've looked through it and it has some good reciepts for desserts.

Dorm room Beef Tips 'N Noodles:
1 pack ramen noodles (toss out the bullion packet)
combine w/ one can of beef stew
microwave (or hotplate, if you don't mind breakin' dorm rules) till noodles are soft and stew is hot.
