We do have coveralls, but they're too hot to work in since the CSM (Command Sergeant Major) also made the stupid rule that if you wear coveralls then you have to wear them up. So some of us acquired some mechanic's pants. As for the hat, the motorpool is laid back they aren't going to jump your *** if you wear your hat for 5 minutes inside getting a work order for a truck instead of getting it outside during a sand storm.

Ok, for the record, I have any idea what you mean by boots and utes. Lol. And yes, the CSM likes to "play by the rules", but the regs say hats in the motorpool isn't authorized. I'll start wearing my boonie after I get promoted.

Boots and utes is when you are in cammies and take you blouse off and you don't have to wear a hat. MC it is authorized for work and PT, IDK if wearing 8 point hats in boots and utes is even authorized, but they look just as rediculous.

Hmm, I guess that just shows how different MC and Army really is. It's nothing out of the ordinary in the Army to not wear your blouse outside if you're working in the motorpool and wear a hat.
