For our loyal followers....
we will be done with construction & finishing over the the next month. Then as usual....it's all in the hands of Nassau County, Town of Hempstead, and the Fire Marshall to get us a final approval and blessing to open the doors. Once we get this final OK, we will have our Soft Opening followed a few weeks later by the Grand Opening with world famous superstar DJ....Hot97's own Funk Master Flex. Now let the haters do what they do best....hate.
Other fields that are NOT is Nassau County or the Town of Hempstead do not have to go through what we have to. Obnoxious and its owner, Matt are trying to bring you an upscale, safe, and convenient paintball arena in the heart of Nassau. This is a lengthy and stressful endeavor in the absolute worst place to open a new business in New York State, not just Long Island.
When it takes almost a year to just get a hearing date in the Town of Hempstead, everything else gets held up. When it takes 7 engineers and 6 months in the County to figure out a curb cut placement (plus or minus 2 feet), it holds a business up. When you have to wait 4 months for National Grid to just get gas to the building....it holds us up. The list goes on and on and all adds up to our and your time wasted. We understand your frustration with our constant delays in opening. But I promise all of you, NONE OF THIS IS OUR DOING. Nassau and the Town have made us jump through hoop after hoop with the permits, plans, etc. Nassau keeps saying it wants new businesses, but then they make up new rules for you when you try to open one. Simple fact: the building has been there since 1964. YET, Nassau County is treating this as new construction!!!! Just so 7 engineers (who do the work of 1) can have jobs!?!?
Like we keep stressing....if this was a quick and easy process like some of you think, EVERYONE would have a paintball arena in their town. Yes, we could have picked a different location like all the other places and been open a year ago. But we chose a prime location in the heart of Nassau and on a main road with easy access to the parkways and public transportation. Even with our research, no one could have warned us what we were in store for with the Town of Hempstead and Nassau County. It has been a battle since day one and they tried to shut us down on more than one occasion. But here we still are and moving forward down the home stretch!
