acid wash videos?

Are there any videos out there showing the acid wash process? I have seen the masking videos, but i'm curious on how people are getting the "smokey" look.

i'm also curious if activated hydrographic film ink will work like ano ink. anyone have any experience with this?

thanks

1)The video doesn't show acid washing but it shows some basic stuff.
2)No idea about hydro film ink. It might work if the ink is UV resistant if not it will fade out really quickly. Rit dye does the same thing looks great but after a few trips outside the part begins to lose color due to UV exposer.
3)To acid wash you anodize then dye a piece. Then use either bleach or acid or both to remove color. How wet your piece and the type of bleaching agent used when your removing color gives you the soft organic type lines your talking about. A high polish finish on the part prior to anodizing it also helps.

could you used an airbrush to apply dyes or would the dyes too thin and run?

I'm not as experienced as some of the others here that might answer...
I used bleach. The amount of time you leave it on before rinsing will vary the effect. Also you can water down the bleach a bit to change the outcome. Like I said I haven't done tons of it but that worked for me.
