i think it will work pretty well without eyes, my vlocity has never chopped a ball at 11. ill just cap the board at like 15 balls. i have the cash to blow on it, think it will be nice to have a backup backup tourney legal gun for mxl.

The stock vibe internals will only fire about 15-17bps, so you wont have to worry much about what the board is capped at ...

That's only software. The hardware can do 17BPS stock, and over 25 with a QEV.

you wouldnt need a qev to get 15 unless you were putting it on for efficiency which is already good you would just be loosing the anti-chop...

hey the efficiency would help. also your pressure would be lowered so that you have less chance of the air messing with the balls.

Yes, he knows that but he meant the higher pressure of the air changing the shape of the ball and you might get a break at the end ( as in the part you screw in) of the barrel if it is too distorted.

correct. i don't mean chopping paint. i mean dimples. thats when most of your chops happen. its usually not the bolt clipping the ball, because its usually when the ball first hits the barrel.

Air is not going to distort the shape of the ball(unless something is wrong with the ball, like it's been absorbing water in a sauna). If you ever look at high speed footage of a paintball being fired in a clear tube at way over 300fps(faster than you would see in a normal paintball gun) you will see even at that vlocity the ball does not distort at all.
Barrel Breaks are not the same as Chops
Chops are when the bolt cuts the ball. That's why they call it a chop.
Barrel Breaks are when a ball breaks in the barrel (thin/brittle shell, debris in the barrel, etc).
Barrel breaks are caused by a paintball or barrel or combination of a paintball/barrel problem. Barrel breaks are no biggie, could just be bad paint, could just be too small a barrel for the paint etc. Chops are a serious problem if you have eyes, or a serious anti chop bolt... what it means is something is f'd up, malfunctioning/damaged, or blocked/jammed.

Your pretty much right, but no one has really proven that the ball doesn't distort when fired. While you can't see any visible distortion in the ball in the high speed camera, even small, difficult to see distortion could have some effect.
I think people get confused because they think that the operating pressure is what directly acts on the ball. The operating pressure is only what is required for the gun to cycle, the actual pressure that hits the ball, even with a high pressure gun, it much less.

now one has really proven?
dude. i think plenty of companies have researched how much if any distortion occurs. i agree with hammer.
barrel breaks for the vibe are usually always ****ty paint or bore size issues.

No, you are completely and utterly wrong. The only person who has even scratched the surface is Tom Kaye.
I've seen the video. There is no way in hell you can tell if a ball is expanding by .01 inches with the naked eye. In addition, who is to say that a ball that is underbored to a barrel will distort while an overbored barrel will not?
I mean hell, we used to think that underboring DECREASED efficiency until a few months ago. Very little research on such things are ever actually done in paintball, it is all mostly hype. Such, as rifled barrels and the like.
