Yea Northgate would do it for sure and I would go towards a 5 man nppl type format or something similar 7man would be very hard to organize like having enough paint for 10 or so 7 man teams enough air.... Big factors when having a big tourney like that but possibly and 3man series would be alright but everyones played 3 man and let's face it , gets kinda old I would much rather help throw a 5 man series similar to psp or nppl but psp adds up quick when it comes to different events paint wise I say keep it semi auto 5 man sorta like the new nppl 5 man series! But just putting ideas out there

X-ball is definately never going to happen :
A) It costs alot
B) Matches are atleast 5 games long
PSP style 5man would be the best option, considering almost every field in Louisiana has an X-ball field.
Any NPPL style would be out of the question, since I know there are not many around here wanting to play 7man.
Edit - I would never see this happening, especially since it's hard enough to get teams to come to a local tournament.

perhaps
Dave -- maybe what you say is true. There does seem to be some interest though. Depending on the fees and prizes it will not take many teams to make this happen. i am just guessing but I would think we could run it with 10-15 teams. If we run it right we should be able to pull some players that are currently going to CFOA and we should certainly get the 5 man pick up teams that are willing to pay to play in one NPPL tournament in Houston!
Xball is certainly very expensive -- that is why I would vote for the "lite" version. I think this retains the "fairness" of Xball and certainly cuts the cost alot. I am afraid that full Xball is going to be only for the pros. and sponsored teams.
Again I am open to all formats and would certainly want to pick the format that includes the most people.

5man is the only logical way to go, the teams skill level would greatly range, considering most southeastern louisiana players are D3 or higher, so the "league" would have to have a sort of division.
The only way I could sort of see this happening... it wouldn't be for beginners.
Xball is Xball, it will always be expensive.

just a word of advice (i know you are new at this) if you have 15 teams say they are interested. only 10 of them will say they will play and then only 5 of them will actually sign up to play. if you do not make them pay when they register but a pay when you get here type thing only 3 of them will show up.

yes - of course -- I meant if we could get 10-15 paid then it could happen.(I am not new to this by the way -new to pbnation only)
I also agree that this will not be for beginners. After all 5 man anything takes it to a higher level of dedication and skill -- but this is the point. I would like to try to bring together the talent that we have here in La and let us play in an organized way.
I still think this could happen.

Maybe you should come to a practice down here... you will see why no one can play "organized".

I can tell you one thing, being cocky is definately not a smart thing to do.
And... if you really want to come to a practice, I'll have to let you know when the next one is scheduled anywhere; Gustav screwed us all over.

Why so damn negative Dave? Seriously, this is a good idee, and this guy is trying to revive paintball in Louisiana, and you have nothing good to say. I've been waiting for something like this to happen. My team would definitely be down for something like this. And 5-man PSP is the most logical format.

And check the 2 field in Alexandria. I know one is on a military base, and they have non profit tournaments, so im sure their entry, and prizes would be awesome, and they have an xball field. Their having a series also in I htink March.

Let me know if this actually happens and it's worth showing up at, then maybe I'll try to be positive.
If it turns into an actual louisiana league, I wouldn't mind being a part of it.
If it turns out to be another local tournament series, you can count me out.

duly noted Dave.
Although your comments were somewhat negative they were not altogether useless. Make no mistake that I appreciate your input anyway.
Also I was not being cocky -- we really would like to come down and practice sometime!

Try to give positive ideas rather than stating why YOU think this won't happen.

Either way it is my input, if it's not what you want to hear, then ignore it.
If I gave you positive ideas, it's still my input...
Your post to stir up some contraversy is irrelavent to the point of this thread.

I'm not going to argue further.
Too every positive, there is a negative... I just so happen to be the negative.
I'm not sure how long you have been around, but I've been around long enough to know how easily this will fail.
