I would like to just throw this out there and see what other field managers/owners as well as players thought.

Would anyone be interested in a Louisiana League series.
That is, a tournament that is hosted at the various fields around the state (perhaps 4-8 fields). Keep the costs as low as possible and the prizes as big as possible. I know this has been done in the past and was succesful at least for a little while. It seems there is a resurgence of interest in Paintball particularly in speedball/Xball and right now we have a lot of state teams traveling large distances to get the kind of competition they desire (CFOA, PSP, NPPL, AXBL etc.)

If anyone is interested, particularly team captains and field managers/owners lets about the feasablity of making this happen. On the other hand if there is not enough interest then screw it and we keep playing little local tournaments and large national tournaments. I just thought it might be nice to have a series somewhere between these 2 extremes.

There was the SPL many years back which ran pretty smooth. It consisted of 4-5 fields and each event moved around from field to field with different teams reffing for points. I still have many of those old trophies from 1998-1999. It was a fun league to be a part of and I still probably have the original paperwork, rules, etc.
If you are looking for someone to help head this thing up and bring a field in, let me know.

Do not worry I am not giving up -- I will start cold calling some fields next week and see if they are interested.

Any suggestions on fields I should call?
They need a good airball field, appropriate netting, and of course a will to see it happen.

I think a lot of fields are in such dismal financial shape that many do not want to go to the trouble of hosting such a series -- but we will see. If we have the teams we can get the fields and vice versa.

Well I see not to many ppl seem very interrested looks like, but it might be a thought and I think it would be somthing cool to see because you never really see any good paintball series happen in Louisiana, but I own a field in Monroe,la called Northgate Paintball and we might be interested in having something like that!

Paintball Command in Covington or LAX out in Slidell might be interested.. Also, you might want to run this by Shell Shocked in Houma and Crossfire out in Baton Rouge.

i will call Crossfire in BR and Off Limits in Shreveport this week.

After I talk with them i will try to arrange a phone/interenet conference or even a face-face meeting to see if we can collectively make this happen. Draw up some basic guidelines, choose a format, look at some dates etc.

i am really excited about this and i think it will be really great.

If any representatives or owners for the above fields can PM me your personal info ie. name, contact info etc. it will be easier for me to cooridinate.

Let us know which one and why so we can get a feel for what format people like to play.

(my vote is Xball lite 5man - but I and my teams will play whatever(including woodsball) if the majority want to do it.

i think regular old 5-man (with a best of 3, or 5 games) would work best. alot of teams have trouble getting 7+ solid players with money, and not everyone can afford x-ball. and maybe have a 3-man young guns division.
