Spire Compatibility w/ 2015 Axe Pro

Saw and heard odd things about the hopper not fitting correctly onto the marker. Anyone else have personal accounts to prove or disprove this? I have seen videos of the older pro models working fine but the feed necks on the 2015 models are a toss up.

Sorry if this should be in the loader section but it is the 2015 Axe Pro specifically that I'm curious about.

Yes I was probably the first person to post about this probably. Boss paintball looked into it and the feedneck is slightly bigger on the axe 2015. Do not know where the thread is but i posted this a while ago along with others. I called paintball solutions. They offered to let me send in my gun for free and have a different feedneck put on that fits the spire.

Aw man, what feed neck did they end up slapping on there?

I have not sent it in yet. But i think they told me it would be the one from the sniper. They asked me what color and everything I got.

Seems like you got lucky on that one, rryanharris17 and mrpresident2107 (who used multiple combinations) had problems too. Hoping more people can weigh in on this.

There was no Axe Pro model prior to the 2015 model. The regular Axes came with a dofferent threaded feedneck that was of pretty low quality.

2015 axe pro feednecks are a larger diameter version of the Sniper/Resurrection/Vanquish feednecks which all properly fit a Spire. Kee told me the change was intentional.

My 3 different Spires didn't work with either of my 2015 Axe Pros - Kee had me send them in to put new (older style) feednecks on them. Now I'm happy to be able to use my Spire without shimming my feedneck and cranking down my screws on it.

Apparently Empire is making changes to the new style feed neck so it fits everything again. They made a post on another thread. I am just trying to figure out how to get that new feedneck and when it will be available.

Update: Picked up the z2 and it still spins no matter how hard I crank down, it's not that bad but enough to put tape at the bottom for grip. I didn't even notice how smooth the inside of the feed necks were, which is the source of all hopper problems. Every good feed neck I ever used had some kind of threading which held everything in place. I'd mill it myself if I could but tape will do.

Just to make everything clear. Empire did not make any changes to the feedneck on the Axe Pro, it is the same size as the feednecks on the Vanquish and nothing has changed. With the old Halo and Viewloader brands under our umbrella, we have all the major original loaders that created the force-feed market and use them as the standard loader feedneck size upon which we base the designs of how the marker feedneck should be sized. This feedneck size also used by Dye on the Rotor loader.

You ask why our marker does not feed the Spire, and I ask you why doesn't the Spire match the old Halo and Viewloader models, and not fit Empire markers?

Because we understand that at the end of the day, players donít care how it happened, only that it gets fixed, we have modified the size of our feednecks going forward which will eliminate this issue with the Spire.

I'm sorry to be that guy but this is incorrect. I own a Sniper, 2 resurrections, a Vanquish 1.5, and a 2015 Axe Pro. The 2015 Axe pro feedneck is without the slightest bit of doubt bigger than all of the others.

I talked with Boss of Boss Paintball Products and he checked the markers in his shop and found that I was 100% correct.

I do know one thing. My spire does not fit on my 2015. But does my older empire guns. I also called KEE and they told me it is slightly bigger. I agree though virtue needs to make a bigger neck but I will be damned if something did not change. Boss paintball even measured and said its bigger. Plus empire is making changes going forward. Yeah something changed clearly.

To confirm my previous statement, I measured 3 Axe Pros from 3 different production runs with calipers, they were all sized at 1.03inches. Our minimum loader feedneck standard is 1.04in. I also measured a Vanquish 1.5 (1.02) and a Vanquish 2.0 (1.03) as well as two Resurrections (1.02, 1.03) and a Sniper (1.02). As you can see they are all about the same diameter, within 0.01 inches of each other. I measured a Z2 feedneck at 1.05 inches, a Dye Rotor at 1.05 inches, a Pulse at 1.05 inches and a Spire at 1.01 inches.

And our 2015 Axe Pro feednecks are not that size. I don't know why you are wasting your time arguing with us about feednecks we have in our possession that you don't have in yours.

You clearly shipped out some very out of spec feednecks. Mine on the absolute tightest setting with metal touching metal on the opening does not hold my JT Revolution loader or my Spire.

Edit: I currently use the feedneck off my Empire sniper on my 2015 Axe Pro so that it fits my Spire.

I am not arguing that Virtue needs to make bigger feednecks. But I have a older sniper and my new axe. My spire fits down tight on one and not the others. You can measure all you want. But if KEE themselves sends me a new feedneck and says they are making changes going forward then I believe them. Like Rob said we probably got ones that are not made right or something. A Empire tech even commented saying they are making changes to fix it. But Virtue should make their feednecks bigger as well.

Here is exactly what was said which makes complete sense. There were variances in production. But Empire being a good company they are fixing it for us. TY Empire!

The Empire team is aware of the Virtue Spire feedneck being a tad bit smaller than the standard size(Dye Rotor, Empire z2, JT Revolution, Halo Too). Some Virtue Spires will fit just fine on the Axe Pro feedneck but that is due to production variances.

We've adjusted the adjustability of the feedneck on the Axe Pro so future production of the marker will be able to accommodate all players using the Virtue Spire.

Our service department does have dust black and silver feednecks in stock that will fit all Virtue Spires. Currently we do not have any other color options available.

Thanks for supporting Empire and I hope everyone is enjoying their Axe Pro.

Thanks,

Scott

If you have the issue just contact customer support. I sent an email yesterday to tech@paintballsolutions.com for a replacement feedneck and got a response today with shipping confirmation. Love my axe pro and happy to see good customer support!

They sent me a regular Axe feedneck and body insert to replace my 2015 Axe pro feedneck. Its a bummer as I have no intention of downgrading to the old regular style Axe feedneck which I feel is clearly inferior to the Vanquish style one I have now that doesn't fit my Spire.

Same for me. They sent me to old one. Annoying as hell to be honest. I bet that the Axe was back ordered for so long because of this issue. If you buy a new one now that was just made I bet the feed neck issue is fixed.
