Axe Pro Velocity Issues

Hi,

I took a look through the first 5 pages and couldn't find anything quiet like what I have going on so I thought I'd ask.

Took my Axe Pro out yesterday. Lubed the bolt, put a fresh battery in it in prep for using it today. Havn't used it since last summer.

Got to the field and with the reg set to 200 the highest I could get the velocity was 140ish. I cranked the reg up until it leaked and the highest I saw was 230. Paint was bore matched. I put another fresh battery in, tried my other tank. Neither worked. None of the orings look damaged and when set to normal settings (ie 200psi and about a half turn out on the adjuster from all the way in) it does not leak.

Iam kind of stumped on this one.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Karl

You need to adjust the back cap on bolt after you've set gun to run on 200psi op pressure. You don't want to ever run your axe over 200 at the gun , use your Allen key on the back of bolt , that's your velocity adjustment.

Using the back cap with the reg set to 200 the highest I could get was 140. I backed the back cap right out until it leaked.

Just greasing the bolt is not sufficient maintenance. You MUST GREASE THE POPPET O-RING REGULARLY. Most velocity issues are caused by the poppet o-ring
