Having trouble screwing new freak front into back

Got a new freak front and went to screw it in and it doesn't seem to want to go more than 80% in. It's the proper threading and it's simply a shorter front than one I have that is identical to it so I don't THINK it's the front itself. I'm a new owner, so I'm a little unversed; did a search and couldn't find anything regarding the issue so I was wondering if this is something normal or if I need to do something in particular to get it to work. Also, should I not be able to screw it all the way in but like I said 80% in, does that affect performance in and of itself? Ok, thanks.

It's going on an Ion but I'm not having problems screwing the barrel onto the gun; just the front onto the back.

Clean the threads really good, toothbrush and water.

Then use a little gun oil on the threads and try it.
