Hello everyone. I just picked up an etek 3 with a virture board and a freak kit and am looking to tune for shot to shot consistency over the crono. I have a hush v2 bolt on the way since I couldnt find a pooty bolt and am looking for tips on how to achieve my goal. Obviously paint to bore match is critical but I have a freak kit and usually bore to fit an average of about 10 balls so that the paint does not roll out and takes some effort (but not to much) to blow through. I have read that a higher dwell can achieve my goal but was curious if anyone has a tried and true method that can list out an order of steps to follow. My marker is at the factory 2 turns from flush LPR setting and chrono'd to field speeds at < 300 FPS. I should note that I do not have a chrono and will be doing this at the field. lpr 0-1 turns in, 9-10 ms dwell. Then adjust hpr to field speed.

You'll also want good paint. That will make a huge difference.

Will the above work with the stock bolt. I'm playing tomorrow and want to try these settings but my hush v2 hasn't arrived yet.

Yeah. All you will change with the hush is the lpr, because it will bump your velocity around 10-15fps.

Well I didn't get a chance to change the settings on my marker until I got home and was cleaning it. The dwell was at l5-16 blinks and the ROF was at 8 or 9 BPS lol. I set the dwell to 10 blinks and the ROF to 12.5. I also adjusted to LPR to 1 turn in from flush. Is there any reason the the previous owner would use such a high dwell? Isn't the stock dwell 12?

I am interested in doing the same-ish thing to My Etek (1st gen) w/. Star frame. My specs are below. I want to tune it to the ultimate for quietness, and lowest possible setting to produce 280-285 fps. Not at all worried about air consumption, I use a 114/4500. Correct me if I'm wrong, don't I drop my dwell down ridiculously low and turn my LPR about 2 turns in?

I think your LPR and mine have different stock settings. I'm not sure though as I'm still new to Etek's

For my Etek3, the most drastic change was a Kush bolt. Really made it quieter and a smooth shot. Haven't even messed with the lpr or dwell yet!

I'm hopping my hush v2 will be a nice change. Although my etek 3 was quieter than a friends etek 4 today. Both were shooting around 290+- and are both stock with the exception of mine having a freak/AA instead of the shaft kit.

I have the SLS Ego Cure 3+ bolt with all the inserts. I use the muffler. Also coupled with the Zick kit.

Don't feel bad. I paid full asking price ($45) for my dust red CCU kit that is on my Etek in my sig. Well whats left of it. I bought the dust red LPR cover, eye covers, and non-clamping feedneck. Later replaced the non-clamping dust red feedneck with the dust black lever clamping one pictured with the specialty ordered 2011 Ego feedneck lever directly from Planet Eclipse. Then replaced the red eye covers with dust red Kila eye covers/detents. All thats left from the original CCU kit is the LPR cover. At the time when I bought the CCU the 2010 Ego was out! The trigger and ASA/knob was bought separately afterwards.

Just thought of a question. Do the dwell values go by 1 or .5 ms?

Ok, I'm just trying to figure out if one red blink means 1 or .5 ms on my Virtue board. I read the instruction manual but it didn't say. Its the Virtue redefined board if that makes a difference.
