What Is Your Favorite Photo Of All Time?
Well I don't know if a thread like this has been tried before but I didn't see one. So I thought I'd make a new one if there has been. So Just post up your number one favorite photo that you have ever seen or taken.
There ought to be some RULES though:
Only 1 photo per post
Please try to keep the chatter down, if you want to comment on a photo, do so when you post up your own photo.
Please don't quote posts with photos to say 'that looks cool OMGZORS'
Be kind to the dial up connection; no photos over 800pixels on a side.
Please don't post up random snapshots you took because you have nothing better to post.
To start it off:

This was a rescue plane that had some obvious problems on a mountain runway in Guatemala. It was taken by Robert W. Madden. Every time I see this I just go "Wow." Imagine seeing this coming, then having your camera ready and adjusted in time and then managing to snap it at just the right moment. Remember this is 1976 so he had one shot too, not 1000 chances with his dslr. If you carry a camera with you everywhere you go in life, you may have an opportunity to catch something like this. The two guys jumping away is priceless.
If anyone has a suggestion to make this thread better, let me know.

This has been attempted before. Don't be upset when it collapses like a dying star.

You kept a distance out of fear you'd break, but what good's a single windchime hanging quiet all alone? The music our collisions would make is the sound that turns "the road that leads us back home" into "home."

This thread will be good for a while, but will go downhill rapidly and cause massive amounts of work for the moderators who have to delete pages of flaming/worthless posts.
Not my favorite photo of all time, but it goes with the theme in the first photo.

Split-second shot MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Capt. Christopher Stricklin ejects from the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds number six aircraft less than a second before it impacted the ground at an air show at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, Sept. 14. Stricklin, who was not injured, ejected after both guiding the jet away from the crowd of more than 60,000 people and ensuring he couldn't save the aircraft. This was only the second crash since the Air Force began using F-16 Falcons for its demonstration team in 1982. The ACES II ejection seat performed flawlessly.

Lunchtime atop a Skyscraper depicts eleven men sitting on a girder eating lunch, their feet dangling from the beams hundreds of feet above the New York streets below was snapped on September 29, 1932, and appeared in the New York Herald Tribune shortly after. The photo was taken on the 69th floor in the last several months of construction.

Protip: It's a composite photo.
Edit: or it was hanging off a string. still a cool shot, but no he didn't time a shot perfectly as the ball whizzed inches from his lens.

I find it cute that you think this sub forum is capable of following sensible rules.

what's the point of posting favorite photos if you can't discuss them?
