Hey guys, I found this on youtube while browsing photog videos. I thought this was pretty incredible when the water still retains the shape of the balloon after it has been popped.

That kind of equipment costs a pretty penny, so not many recreational photographers can do that, but heres some good photos from Harold Edgerton. If you haven't heard of him you should have, he invented high speed photography and I believe the flash as well.

I have heard of people who have synced up a camera to a gun so after lots of math, they have it properly synced up to where the bullet reaches the object just as the camera takes the picture.

How many fps are need to stop a bullet such as edgerton did?

You could use a 30sec exposure.

Just use a black room and a fast flash timed to fire when the bullet passes the point you want to take a pic of.

Yea he just used very sensitive film and a flash connected to the gun, the shutter would be on bulb, or open, the whole time.
