Interactive Diagram of Mech Spyder

This is just a simple guide that I have created for anyone who wants to know what each part of their Marker does. There is also a partner animation to go along with the diagram. Beware, this was roughly molded off of an MR1, so many of the parts, and relative sizes may be different than other Spyders.

Here is the current diagram:
http://img235.imageshack.us/my.php?i...unpartscl3.swf

Here is the current animation:
http://img296.imageshack.us/my.php?i...imationpk9.swf

I welcome input and/or corrections, and I will give credit where credit is due.

Thanks to DFSniper for the awesome trigger idea, and also thanks to lamorte for teaching us to never trust your pizza delivery guy....
I would also like to thank the guys in the OT for helping me out quite a bit.

The only thing I might add is a "Click to cycle" button, and get the diagram to do so, but whether you do it or not, it's still an awesome piece of work.

Very good job, I didn't read through everything yet but if I find anything that could be fixed I'll let you know. Let's get this in the ultimate sticky or something?

Edit: Yeah I'm with battlechaser, even if ydna or whoever did make that type of thing already I think it'd be even cooler to have your do it. Then it demonstrates and educates.

Thanks for the compliments!

I took your guy's advise and made a animation. Its not very smooth, and its kind of crude, but i will update as it gets better. Its also not within the diagram, but i am working on that. lol

nice job and distinctive from the rest with the descriptive popups.

only thing i would change is i would have the separate parts you're decribing color coded(in different colors) so you can easily decipher by view the individual parts.

Well, right now, it is as it would be right out of the gun. If i did what you suggested, then it would loose that.

You can't tell me there wouldn't be that one person, who just can't find "the bright blue thingy" in their marker.

I will try it out, and see how it looks, but I am kind of wary....

what about making it popout a different color....leave it the standard color out of the gun and when they hover over it have it change colors

I think it's fine in the colors you have it, it shows what the parts really look like and they're easily distinguishable since it highlights around them when you hover over.

The animation looks great so far, I would add the paint getting shot in there too though if you can.

And it looks like the blue airflow and other moving parts are overlapping the text boxes, so fix that. And maybe my browser is messed up and I can't find it, but add a button to start/stop the animation. Now add some Queen looping in the background and throw caturday pics all around the diagram, and you will have successfully won the internet

hah, if someone doesn't know your diagram isn't the real marker and the parts may not be the same as a color coded version, then maybe they shouldn't be allowed to shoot one lol. i understand about trying to make it slug mentality proof, i was just making a suggestion to improve visual comprehension.

I think that i will actually get rid of the pop-ups, in the next version, along with creating a stop button.

That would mean it about half of PBN wouldn't be allowed to fire a marker. lol Also if i came off as defensive, I apologize.

Very impressive. Now when some one asks what, say, the bolt is, we can tell them where to go.

h,,...i can't scroll down to read alll the text. Also, add a stop button. You can't read the text on the valve pin very easily. and other stuff as well.

-stop button

-scroll bar

hmm, heres an idea: make the trigger the start/stop button, so every time you "pull" the trigger, it cycles once.
