Right guys...
Due to most of us being quite emotional when we picked up the trophy, we missed a few thank yous, so I am going to do it now.
First and foremost our sponsors:
-
DYE Paintball - The DM8 took 1st and 3rd in Pro. 1st in Semi Pro and a 1st place in Div 2. Not a bad weekend!!!!! The playing gear, goggles and support were second to none.
-
Draxxus for the paint. It was awesome and we couldn't have won without it.
-
Dave Stewart and
D7's training camp for giving us the chance to practice and for always believing in the team.
-
Tadao Technologies for the Musashi DM7/8 board. Our guns have never performed so well!
-Jamie and
Slothball.com for the annodising and laser engraving on the team guns.
-
PbNation for giving us the tools to speak to you guys and giving you guys the chance to keep up with the Nexus Rollercoaster
Then there are the people that always seem to be there to help out:
Arpie and all of the Bullets - True professionals!!!!
All the guys from Lisbon Benfica!
ECI
Notorious Kids
Dani and Dalton from Angry Fish, Spain
Big Pete, Sue, Jimmy, Darren and the rest of the London Tigers
Neil and the rest of the DYE tech crew.
Gus and Leire for all the help and support - Great friends
Hugo and Stevie and all the Reapers guys
All of the DYE crew - Robin, Ellice, Marta, Jesse, Kiki, Sven, Fabrice and Viktor and Jamie. Behind every good team there is a great crew.
PEDRO - Cameraman extraordinaire!!!!! An honourary member of the Nexus family
Scott Kemp and all the other guys and girls that helped me out on the side lines.
The players:
Tommy, Dunny and Leigh - The Nexus "Old Skool"
Neil Campbell for having the balls to say it how it is and do the job. A "Glass is half empty" kind of guy but we couldn;t have done it without him!
Jason Wheeler - Always hungry, Always learning and a future superstar.
Brandon Short - For actually making it into the country and believing in the ability of this team.
Clint Moore - Insanely committed and a great Captain. More heart than anyone for the game. I would play for him anytime, anywhere.
Lastly a few words to the Coach.
Jamie has been with the team since the start, one of the "Old Skool". He had to take the start of this season off to concentrate on work but came back to help after our dismal start in Malaga. Aggressive and controversial on and off the field he wore his heart on his sleeve and gave everything to get the best out of the players. He would have loved to have played on the starting 5 that won but not may people can say that they coached a World Cup winning team. Thanks for everything Jamie. I know that the players realise the part you had to play in the teams first number one spot. A personal thanks from your older brother - although I can still beat you to the 50 every now and then
I am sure I have forgotten some people and I will try and add them as I remember them.
Thanks to all the fans and supporters.
This win is for you guys and all of the old Nexus players and supporters that worked so hard to get the team to the top.
Onwards and upwards
Jeff
