dimewithamind,

If you're referring to the oring next to the back cap's threads.
Dow55 would be your best bet on that oring. Just let it swell before you replace the back cap. If it still doesn't seal enough and your back cap comes loose, you should replace that oring. I wouldn't recommend you try this mod for that oring.

Some people have put a drop of BLUE loctite on the threads or clear nail polish would work also. Some have said that the back caps tolerances aren't the greatest on the threads. Could be that your markers tolerances are at the limit.

If your referring to the oring that sits inside the bolt on the tail stalk, no, I wouldn't do this mod for that oring unless it was to troubleshoot that particular oring.

rottensquad07 has been trying to get some oring kits together. Might consider shooting him a PM to get replacement orings. He has EXCELLENT kits! His are way better than ANYONE elses, including DPs. I know from experience, since I've tested all kits for the Threshold that are on the market.

Little side note, that might only apply to mine since we have noticed other "irregularities" with it:

Sail oring had an issue today ... replaced with #16 o-ring - still wouldnt seal. To get it to seal required a single wrap of teflon AND the #16 o-ring. The body does heat up a tiny bit during long strings but it is nothing I would be worried about

We used Oringmonkey.com rebuild kits all last year with out a hitch on our Thresholds. This is a great mod to get you through a day of paintball if you don't have a replacement o-ring.

huh? I could have sworn that tank o-rings are indicated by AS568A dash number - 015 which is:

width 1/16
ID - 9/16
OD - 11/16

which using my handy dandy internet conversion is:

width - 1.5875 mm
ID - 14.2875 mm
OD - 17.4625 mm

it's close but no cigar to

width - 2 mm
ID - 15mm
OD - 19mm

No No No ... my trigger/pin/frame are different than any other Threshy ive seen.

When I traded parts I had to swap pins as well his pin didnt fit in my trigger and my pin was very loose in his trigger. So we swapped pins ... his worked out fine but I had to drill open my frame for the pin to fit flush and then cut the pin shorter so it didnt stick out the other side -- but at least it fit the trigger PERFECTLY.

Then the frag broke so DP sent me a replacement trigger - pin wouldnt fit in it so I had to drill the pin hole open!

Yes, that is the typical #3 o-ring issue on the DP spoolers. What this mod does is allow you to use the more common tank o-ring size o-ring (015) and use the teflon to make it seal the chamber. It is a good mod to use if you are in a pinch.
