Ion Game Stats, Awards, Thank You!

Skirmish would like to THANK ALL PLAYERS, VENDORS, & STAFF that came out to our Sold Out Invasion of Normandy Event on July 12th & 13th.

Everyone played a stand up game and we feel that this scenario came off extremely well. While limiting the numbers was a tough decision to make we think that it was the right one and anticipate doing the same in the future.

It was a great battle but congratulations go to General Mark Pastore and his command staff for leading the German Troops to victory.
Game Stats & Awards are as follows

TOTAL PLAYERS: 3130

SCORE
Germans – 108
Allies – 90
French – Met their goal of 2.5 million dollars

GERMAN MVP - Chris DuBois

GERMAN MVT - Pocket Aces & Extreme Measures

GERMAN SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD - Elephant Riders

ALLIED COMMAND

XO – Wally Adcox
XO – Paul DiNunno

ALLIED MVP - Kent Jones

ALLIED MVT - Red Hawks

ALLIED SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD - Wulfenkow

FRENCH COMMAND

Can you elaborate on how the sportsmanship awards were earned? Sounds like a good story.

Excellent game, had a great time. BIIIIG Thanks to all Skirmish staff, command staff, teams and players that made it possible.

Congrats to the Germans for a hard fought victory, and thanks to all the Allies that never gave an inch of ground without making them pay for it.

Looking forward to defending England against the German onslaught!

Special Thanks to Hutch from Myrmidon for calling me to keep in touch and sending good players where they were needed.

DOOBIE!!! sic job. Being there by yourself and doing what you did is a feat in itself.

I'm sure and official thanks from my team is coming so if I missed anyone I apologize

I want to just take a quick second to once again thank General Rob 'Le Woo' Wood for the French MVP award. I still can't believe I earned it, because you are at the top of my list of people to look up to in this great sport. So receiving this award has got to be the coolest thing that has ever happened to me in the nearly 10 years since I started playing. Your love of the game is unparalleled and I find it encouraging that someone who has been in the sport since the beginning can be so amazed at the new and little things that happen at every game (like pretending to be taking video while retrieving props!). I hope when I have reached the point you have that I can still look at the sport as something new and exciting every game.

Whew, that wasn't a quick second at all was it? Oh well. You get the point.

And of course congratulations to the Germans on their win and to all of the other awards recipients. Every year I get more involved in this game and every year I recognize more of the faces on stage at the end and what they did in the game to make it great. Congrats everyone!

~Carter

I think the other registrations were spectator registrations. At least that's my hunch. If Skirmish really let more than 3000 people play, then I will not be happy.

It maybe based on the fact that some only played one day and not the other. Thus each day did not exceed 3000 people. Just my guess.

That doesnt matter, 3000 people is 3000 people pre-regged. Not, 130 people more because some didnt show. But we will await an offical reason why, I am not in the business of starting rumors or stirring the pot with Skirmish. Just looking for some anwsers.
