ear protection on e vents

had a search on here and on pb review and couldnt really find a definitive answer so here goes

thinking of getting some e vents or avatars, prefer the events and ive found em for 3 more than the avatars (most places over here there at least 10 - 15 sterling more) but noticed in 1 review on pbreview it said the ear protection isnt good enough and some guy lost his hearing, now is that an over exaggeration, ive read in a few reviews that the things are pretty thin
but are we talking about the difference between it giving your ear a good slap and hurting or actual hearing damage here?

if its just a bit of pain then im still getting the events but if there is any actual real risk to my hearing..... i cant really believe that there would be as they surely wouldnt pass safety regs etc? also if the ears are so bad is there any sort of aftermarket bits you can buy for better ear protection?

first thread on here so if this is in the wrong place or ive done something wrong in the way ive posted then sorry

Try the mask on at a shop. See if it actually protects you well.

yeah they are a great mask and they have sufficent ear coverage.
thats one reason i dont like proflex's because all they have is a little piece of foam covering your ear. Now in my eyes thats not very safe, but millions of people own and love the proflex mask.
and great job posting, if every new person were like you and instead of posting a thread in the newb forum saying spyder Vs. ion? what should I get?? HUh.??

I've been shot in the ear with Events and it bounced. Barely even hurt. My ears rang for maybe 2 seconds and I was grateful I didn't get out.
