How to Remove/Install Dye i4 Lens : Lots of Pictures
Well, I had been looking around trying to figure out how to remove my Dye i4 lens for a while now. All the videos that I found were not very clear, and it was a bit hard to see what they were doing. Most videos were being recorded by the one removing the lens, making the camera shaky and blurry. Other videos were too far away to see the details.
So, this is why I have decided to make this thread. I want to make it easier for people to figure out how to remove their Dye i4 lens. Sorry if you don't think if this thread is very useful and was not written so well, but I believe that it will help at least some people.
Sorry about some of the blurry/shaky pictures. I was taking the picture with one hand while showing what to do with the other.
We'll start off with a picture of the i4s that I will be working with.
Removal
1. Look inside the mask and locate the middle tab (circuled in picture)
2. Push and hold down the tab with your thumb and use your other fingers to push the clip forward towards the lens.
It should look like this when the clip is pushed forward.
3. Repeat same process for the opposite clip.
4. Push the lens out from the inside.
5. You have successfully removed your Dye i4 lens.

Installation
1. Make sure that the side of the lens are aligned with the slot on the side of the mask.
Make sure that the opposite side is aligned for the corresponding slot as well.
2. Make sure that the hooks on the top of the lens are aligned with the slot on the top of the mask.
Make sure that the opposite hook is aligned for the corresponding slot as well.
3. Push the lens so that they are flush to the mask.
4. Locate the gap between the soft ears and the strap.
5. Insert thumb into the strap and place your other fingers over the soft ears.
6. Using the opposite hand, hold the mask with your thumb on top of the clips and your other fingers on the opposite side of the mask.
7. With the hand holding the softears, pull away from the mask while using the other hand to firmly hold the mask.
An audible click should be heard and the middle tab and clip should look like it did originally (pictured below).
Note: Some i4s do not make the audible click when the clip is pulled back. In this case just make sure the middle tab and clip look like the picture below.
8. Repeat steps 4-7 for the opposite clip.
9. You have succesfully removed and reinstalled your i4 lens.

^make sure you add that when reinstalling lenses that you need to make sure the little hook-thing goes into the opening on the outside/rear protion of the lens so they lock in place properly. Def could be a useful thread with more people comming to i4s second hand and maybe not having a manual.

Thank you and don't worry I already did. I have pictures of lining everything up too.
I didn't have the manual because I got these secondhand too. I think many people are like this so this could be helpful.
Installation has now been posted.

so someone who has never had i4s before and doesn't have a manual or anything, is just supposed to know how to take out and put the lens back? I think not. Maybe they'd be able to figure it out after fiddling around a bit, but some people like to be sure that the way that they're doing things is the correct way to do it. Maybe it's obvious to you, but maybe I didn't make this thread for just you? I've helped a couple people so far, and I think that if at least this thread helps some people, it is worth being written.

Seriously. If the i4 is beyond anyone without a manual they really shouldn't be allowed a pb marker for safety reasons lol. You know how I learned to change the i4? I asked a buddy how they were changed and he said they have a tab. That's it lol. It's not like these are i3s that have caused many cut thumbs
That being said this is a sport played by kids as young as 10 so pics and threads like this never really hurt so good thread I guess
