I'm still calling shens on the whole V-force lens thing, I've never tested it and don't plan too, but given what I know about ballistics I'm not buying it.

But even if it were true whats the point? Do you plan to be shot with a real firearm when paintballing?

Edit, so I've got some V-force lenses laying around I'm going to go out and shoot them tomarrow to see, my moneys on a busted myth.

If you can please record your distance from the lens, what caliber bullet, grain of said bullet, etc

Video tape it too

I can do all of the above, but I'm thinking I may hold off alittle while and get some lenses from all the major mask companys and just test them all to see how they differ. I'll be shooting with a 115 grain 9mm FMJ round from the claimed 5' away. I don't own a .40 to exactly replicate the claim, but I figure this is close enough.

I've got 9mm and .45, but no .40. I've got V-force, JT, Save Phace, and Empire lenses I'll use, but I'm thinking I'll try to dig up those that I don't have.

Well, tomarrow we'll be doing the test on the lenses we have. We've also got ALOT of profiler lenses so if by some fluke it actually stops the 9mm we'll be using everything I've got to see what it can take. We'll also try the .22 and see if it can even stop that

Did you not read that thread? He used a H&K USP .40 cal with a 165 grain full metal jacket. What part of that is considered "small firearms?"

Sorry, a 40 cal pistol round is considered small arms.

if a mask were bullet proof then it would be heavier than any other masks and it would NEVER get bounces

I've got a SP mask, we were going to try it on a SP lens, but I decided I liked it too much to shoot it up.

if a paintball mask was bullet proof, then it would cost a hella lot of money

No saying that they are bulletproof but you never shot a grill lens, only profilers. On another note you should really practice more with your handguns, ditch the laser sight and actually learn hold to stand, hold, aim and shoot a handgun the correct way so you will hit where you want from five feet away. Someone may break into your house one day and it would suck if you shot your dog instead of the thief.

LOL, I think the odds of me kicking their door in are higher than the odds of them breaking into my house. But, I'm a medic not a shooter my accuracy isn't as important as other skills so I don't train as much for it, although I do spend quite a bit of time at the range. Anyway, 5' is a hard range for a presision shot. Heck one of the guys doing some of the shooting in the video(there were actually 4 different people shooting) is a 20 year cop with about 10 on SWAT, in training and competition he shoots a consistant 98%, even he had a hard time hitting the lenses from 5'. All my guns are sighted in for at closest 15' at which range I'm an above average shot, at 5' you have to just point shoot the iron sights are pretty much worthless. If you notice my miss from 5'(with the 9mm not the .22 or .25) missed by very little, it still hit the mask. As far as the laser goes, I really hope no one uses a laser to aim with(from 5' the laser would be off just as much as the sights), a laser is there for your target to know its going to be hit so as to influence it to give up, they work very well for that.

But trust me, the Grill lens isn't nearly thick enough to be bullet proof. It takes alot of polycarbonate to stop a bullet.
