fields near san jose?

Hey, im gonna be down in cali over the summer for an internship in the mt. view/san jose area and im trying to find out what fields are in the area that are good for some speedball and such. I looked at the field finder on the top of the page but id rather have personal opinions where good places to practice are. Thanks.

Im not familiar with the fields, but i know they have good ones and some of them are indoor . Try googling San Jose's zip code and search it under "Find a field new you"

if you're in san jo..
go to SCP.
www.santaclarapaintball.com
Otherwise, your best bet will be CEPP
www.caitaledgepaintball.com
or Hollister.
www.uspn.biz

SCP = closest to you. okay competition.. carpet-like turf that you will most likely stick on. games go slow and the day moves slow as well.
CEPP = best of the three IMO. NPPL turf, clean bunkers and you dont even feel yourself hit the ground when you dive. Ref's earn way more than their lunch, games go and switch on and off quickly. best bet if you have a team or you know people who you can jump on with.
USPN (hollister) = very nice grass fields, fields set up very nicely. last time i went, there was only the team i was guesting with and one other. reffe'd our own games, games went on in quick succession.

scp- best for just a day of paintball
cepp- great for scrimming, good turf, but its hot(if you dont like heat)
davis- same as cepp, just got the new set ups in(basically brand new bunkers)
Antioch Paintball Park- ( dirt, but very soft, and has 2 new nppl fields and xball, but are very small)
Bay Area Paintball- (i hear its only good on friday nights when its busy, but $$$$)
Vallejo Indoor- (Its closed for now)
USPN- (ok grass, more like dead grass, but you can slide on it. Basically Brand new nppl field, not many teams out there)

Those are my Personal Opinions about the fields around your area

for convenience go to Santa Clara Paintball (SCP) its average nice staff and a good group of ppl but unless u have a team to scrim on then its kinda gay

but if you want to get some good games in against good players then Capital Edge Paintball park (CEPP) is where to go but idk how close that is to San Jose

CEPP is in Sacramento area so it's a good 2-2.5 hours away from SJ.

Depending upon what type of play you want, other fields that weren't mentioned for the woodsball type of experience are: Sunol Paintball (35 mins from SJ), Venture Games @ Mt. Diablo-Walnut Creek Area(1 hour+ from SJ); Sherwood Forest and the Jungle in Vallejo (1 hr 15 min from SJ); Bear Creek Paintball in Scotts Valley (30 min from SJ); Nfinite Edge in Sacramento-actually Rancho Murieta (2 hrs from SJ)area.
