At OK D-Day there are no large fortresses per se. There are several areas that are fortified such as Colleville. There are also numerous towers and other fortifications located throughout the field. Many of the villages have fortifications also. Best of all, there is a HUGE cathedral between Colleville and St. Mere Eglise that is fully the equal or better of just about any paintball fortress you will encounter. Last, don't forget the beaches that have field fortifications and bunkers galore.

D-Day is freaking huge. Where else can you play for a WEEK for $70. You can play as much a you want. The mini game2 are as big as most big games. If you want to sit all day you can join the Germans and sit in a pillbox all day or If you like to attack you can join the Allies and chase the German all over the field. Not to mention if you join the Airborne you start behind the enemy lines. If you like that join the 325th.

Those are two misconceptions. The German beach defense units do mostly defend for most of the morning, but in the afternoon, they are given various missions on several parts of the field. Some are defending and some are attacking. However, the German special forces units (the Geisterjagers, the MEK, the 6th Fallschrimjagers, and the Kommandos) are very active all day and neither sit nor stay in pillboxes. The Airborne are dropped into the 210 by bus to represent a parachute or glider insertion, but that is not behind German lines. If the Airborne was dropped behind German lines, we would be barrel tagging them (and they us) as soon as the "Game On" horn sounded.

Can't believe no one mentioned camping to the original poster. You do not have to stay in a hotel all week, camping is free and a cheaper alternative for you.

Actually they charge $5.00 for the week for camping, but in
return they also pick up all the garbage as well as offer showers.
All in all more a very fair deal.

Here's a link to the page on the official D-Day site
where you can learn more about all of the Allied
units, their history and mission.

http://www.ddayadventurepark.com/ind...=20&Itemi d=4

And this next one is where you can go to sign up
for those units -
