How to prevent slipping?

I am currently helping a field renovate and I was wondering how to help stop the slipping. It's a concrete smooth surfaced floor and the oils make it a little dangerous to walk on.

Thanks

Shoot me a PM if your looking for turf. You are relatively close so shipping will be on the cheaper side.

might be worth investing in some rubber matting - easy to cut to size etc.

Carpet the staging area then... We use squares, so when we get some worn areas, we can replace them.

Oil absorbent. I think Oil-Dri or something. It's basically clay. We use it on our fields (concrete floors). Comes in 50lb bags. We spread it with a push-along lawnseed spreader. Works wonders. It can turn a slippery mess into a, well, not slippery mess in moments. Cheap too. We get ours from Canadian Tire, but I'm going to assume you don't have those where you are

Hard to say, we're not doing a good job keeping track of it. But maybe 10-15 bags. It's about $12/bag, but we're buying it retail right now, which is stupid. Soon we'll just get a couple of skids for the year at a much lower price

Temp / cheap fix for now dump some muriatic pool acid on the concrete and it will rough it up like sandpaper and clean it at the same time.

Please use plenty of venting and eye protection.

Yeh, it's not too bad. Give it a try. Our field are 25,000sqft, so that's, oh, $25,000 for turf. That's a lot of money. And green turf would look stupid on our fields lol

If you look at it, some inexpensive carpet will cost you a lot less... for a staging area. You have to figure in time to go buy it, plus time to put it down, plus time to sweep it up, plus extra stuff getting dirty, etc... I'd find some carpet guys, and sometimes, they have stuff that's not too bad from a tear out. I got a ton of great looking carpet for just hauling it off from a commercial building that was changing the color. Stuff had a little wear, but didn't look too bad at all.

if you look in the old picture (needs updating) that plus another 100-150sqft need to be done.

I saw some carpet squares for around 1.50 a square or so. Its mainly a matter of installation.

We put ours down... Flip the square over, run a quick bead of liquid nails around about an inch in from the sides, then a quick x put it down, and slide it around a bit... next... can get about 3 or 4 down a minute... goes quick!

Go with the carpet squares. Otherwise that oil absorb stuff will be everywhere. If u do your playing field like that the. It's not big deal, but if playing field is carpet then that's different

Also. How u going to keep playing surface clean?

the carpet is not as slippery, but we actually are only open on wednesdays, fridays and the weekends so we do a major cleaning about once or twice a month and we constantly are pulling paint off the field, plus we use white fill and avoid colors such as pink and orange.
