I am having issues with my Threshy and it seems to be a reg. issue. I looked it over and it looks fine. I spoke to DP tech and they told me to switch and use my F7 reg. My question is that do I need to switch the entire reg or can i just drop in the internals of my F7 reg?

Swapping the reg seems like it would be the obvious choice. It should take you a minute or so to pinpoint if the Threshold reg has issues.

FYI, the Fusion internals will not work with the Threshy reg.

I swapped out the regs and the threshy is just shooting more of an arc than my F7 or my mini. I shot all of them today side by side same paint same barrel and all chronoed close to each other. Any suggestions on why it is arcing like it is?

Same paint, same barrel, same velocity = same trajectory. It's probably the difference in how the guns shoulder and line up with your sighting eye that makes it look different to you.

I agree 100%. "Trajectory" and "range" are just not something that are going to
vary under normal conditions. Gun1 does NOT shoot further than Gun2 if
velocity, paint, barrel, angle, etc, etc are all held constant.

ill get the tank refilled and see if I can film it and put on youtube so you can take a look at it. even the refs at my local field made remarks about it. Just trying to figure it out love the way the gun feels just not the way it shoots yet.

Are all reg seats universal or no? Also where can I buy some spares? Dumb questions but im just getting back into the sport and have never owned a high quality marker.

No, regulator seats are not universal. You could probably get some spare pistons from DP which is what the seat sets in. I have also heard of someone using a small piece of macro cut to the shape / size of the stock seat. If my seat ever fails I may give this a try.

ok so i have had my g3 fer like 4 weeks now worked flawlessly the whole time, so i went to prac this week and i crono everything is fine so we go out on the field game startes i take back corner everything is still fine i put out a couple strings and bump to snake as i dive in and bump to the last nuckle i come out i have a clean shot on a guy so i one ball him but that shot kicked really bad the paintball came out like a rocket i was kinda shocked the guy gets out after the game i crono again and it is spiking between 435-521 i tryed adjusting it nothin so i just put my hyper 4 on it fer the rest of the day, when i get back i take it apart check the shim stack thats fine i check the reg seat and it is crumbled like a can, first let me state i have never closed off the reg, so i deside to stick a very small screw driver in the hole and try to straighten the seat back out i lube everything put it back together and go outside shoots another rocket but this time on the second shot the gun lockes up and i cant even hear the click of the noid anymore i manage to let it bleed out, but my hyper 4 works fine, so im blank on this, later this week im taking it back to my sponsor and he is going to talk to dp. so my question is there something i can do to fix it or does it have to be sent back for replacement cuz i dont have alot of time due to a tourny coming up, so help would be great

You will need to order a replacement from DP. You should not have to send your gun back.

Yeah i had a post in the G3 info thread yesterday, had some serious first shot hot. I checked the reg seat today when i got home from work. It looks like the picture that kert posted. I have bottomed out the reg but never forcibly. On top of that the gun shot great and was consistant up until the last half case of paint, thats when my first shot was spiking hot.

Yeah, I called DP customer service and they shipped a new regulator piston to me about a week ago. I slapped it into my regulator and my hyper-velocity issues went instantly.

You don't need to send your gun in. Oh, and some moderator should definitely sticky this thread.

Question

Since there seems to be a lot of people having problems with the stock reg(specifically the piston seat), is it best to simply replace the reg with a hyper inline since they rarely have issues?

Or do you guys recommend contacting dp each time you need a new piston?

That's just how I feel after reading this thread. Let me know, just an honest question.

I plan on picking up a G3 or a Threshy this weekend. Both guns have the same technology however the Threshy can handle more brittle paint if I'm not mistaken. But any pros and cons against the two would be helpful or provide me with a link to another thread that will provide details. Thanks for all your help guys. This thread is great!

From your future DP gun owner

I have a question. I get terrible velocity spikes, and my consistency is incredibly bad, but I have no drop off at high rates of fire. I fired 3 pods straight at 25 bps just to prove that point. Just a sampling of some of the velocity I got. I was trying to get at 275. The paint was Nelson Nel Splat, very good paint in my opinion.

265, 278, 279, 280, 271

And I've put close 3000 shots. Is it a bit early to jump to conclusions? Should I get another case or so through it before I should start to worry.

My thinking is that little hole in the reg seat is the problem. I can't remember if air flows through there or not but if it does that could be unseating the reg seat from time to time. If not then the hole will also cause a weak spot in the structure of the seat and could cause it to compress inward, loosen then get crushed. I just swapped my reg rather than take the chance of murderizing someone.

Yea I think I'm going to swap my reg also rather than chancing the stock reg breaking and shooting extremely hot! I mean what if that happens when I bunker someone! I would lose confidence in my guns safety at that point. I don't think I'm willing to take that risk.
