so i just picked up a mav at a garage sale, and i'm having a few problems.

1. it wont cock when de-gassed.

2. when i screw in tank in, it leaks from the "asa", (fresh oring), and if i pukk back the pump, it leaks from inside the gun somewhere.

Most nelson guns with stock springing cannot cock without gas. It sounds like you might be missing the valve spring.

Just wanted to confirm this. It's perfectly normal.

Your leaking problem is definitely the valve, and may be seal of some sort.
When troubleshooting it, it may be helpful to find a guide for a CCI phantom. In terms of how the guts work, the guns are exactly the same.

well all of the seals looked good, and i lubed everything. still nothing.
