How do you react when you see someone playing paintball in a ghillie suit?

I personally hate when people wear ghille suits, because the one time I play woodsball and shoot him, the ball never breaks. It's cheap and should not be allowed in paintball. Plus there isn't any sniping in paintball.

There was an online guide somewhere, but, a basic way, is to take some sort of netting, such as a volleyball net and sew it onto some camo shirts and pnats, then take colored burlap or cloth that is roughly the same color as you surroundings and sew it onto the netting. But, honestly, you can probably pick up a decent ghillie suit online for 70-90 bucks. Actionvillage has them if I remember right.

as to the person above me. So, just because it may cause bounces it shouldn't be allowed? if thats the case, all paintball specific clothing shouldn't be allowed, heck you wouldn't be allowed to wear anything short of rocks.

edit: heres a link to make one. http://ghillie.bns-code.org/

Dude, a ghillie suit is all burlap with nothing hard at all. It's the size of a goddamn winter coat. I have never broken a paintball on a ghillie suit before. It either hit their gun, hopper or mask.

Now a paintball jersey is as thin as a kleenex so there are going to be a lot more breaks than on a ghillie suit.

quit flaming him maybe he plays scenario woods ball o something, but yeah yo need to get burlap or some other material and cut it to form your body shape or how ever and then you can go go like uncle sams and they sell the material you tie on to the burlap or whatever, but if you make your own it taakes a lonnng time to make it look good, just bjuy one for like 60 .00

I build one a few years ago and it was a LOT of work. I would highly recommend buying one if you have the $$$... If not its a fun project

i think there is a guide in the rec talk section. but remember, not matter how good your camoflauge is if your running around making noise you will be easily spotted. the human eye is attracted to motion.

There is a couple of problems with ghillie suits being used in paintball...

1. A real Ghillie suit (trust me on this, I used to be in a Marine Corps sniper platoon) uses a LOT of natural foliage. Unless you're willing to tie straps to it (like 550 cord) to tie on natural veg, it won't blend in well.

2. You HAVE to break in your suit some way. We have a trick but you won't want to do it. haha You'll just have to get it super dirty and get rid of that burlap/jute shine. You'll stick out like a sore thumb if you don't.

3. Ghillie suits are not made for paintball for the simple fact you're only shooting at short ranges (under 50yds). It's way too easy to spot someone at that range. Plus it's not like you're a real sniper that has the advantage of longer range...when you're in range of your target, your target will be in range of you. Not much of an advantage.

A proper ghillie (one that is good quality and won't fall apart) will cost $200+ to construct. I can go into details if you really want to make one or provide you with some tricks that will make it more comfortable. But again, I don't advise one for paintball.

By paintball scenario rules, if you are hit by a paintball when in a gillie suits, you are out. Bust, bounce, or even glances a thread, you are out. I believe that is correct. I think I read it in a magazine awhile back.

You don't need a gillie suit to play paintball. First off, during a paintball game everybody has adrenalin going and if your playing scenario, nobody out there is hawking for people hiding in the brush, if you sit still they will not see you, after you play a little bit more you will notice that you look for movement. And in the game of paintball you move from place to place on the field to get better angles on your opponents, so a gillie suit will do you no good while your walking from flag point to flag point. With the time and money spent on making the gillie suit you could buy more paint to play more and work on improving your skills. Just my 2 cents.

Also, the ghillie suit is going to get snagged on every branch you pass when your moving around the woods. Honestly if your looking for camofluage just get a BDU set much easier and cheaper.
