If you're looking to go to a Community College it would be retarded to MOVE to Cali. Just go to a Community College there, then transfer anywhere you want, or dont.

Most community colleges have a program with the local 4 year school, so it is easier to transfer there. I don't see why he wouldn't want to/shouldn't come to CA.

eh, next year I'm paying $450 a month, but I'm sharing a room. I don't think that is too bad.

Its less expensive to stay IN-STATE when going to a Community College. So if Community College is what you want, stay where you are then transfer, or just stay in CC.

why california? the only good reason to want to live there is if you currently live in mexico.

Pick a four year college and a degree you want. Then pick a community college that gives a transfer program and get an associates degree and transfer to the 4 year for the remaining two years. It's cheap and if you can find decent teachers at the community college, it's still a good education. It's what I am doing now.

I can tell you first hand though that the experience is nowhere near as good as going straight into a 4 year and the teachers are generally crappy. Research professors on RateMyProfessors for every class your degree will require before you pursue the degree. Otherwise you end up in my situation where you're going to a community college for a Biology degree and find out that the Chemistry teacher you have to take for two semesters is the only one for that school and she has a 1/5 on RateMyProfessors.

Saddleback and Irvine Valley College are nice.
I know you're saying you want to move from the East Coast, but living in SoCa all my life, it's nothing special. So I think I'm gonna say what everyone else has said. Just go to an instate CC with a good transfer program, then come out here to California.

Wait a minute... you're moving to California to go to a ****ing community college? How about you actually try in school and get into a decent college out there, and even maybe try and get a scholarship?

cc is solid win by the way.
you don't have to do anything to get great grades.
and two years into it you can transfer to a 4-year school almost effortlessly.
it's the pimpest.
community college ftw.
