We had a DM4 and DM5. Them seem to work quiet well.

The marker all depends on the shooter. Its what you want.

No specific marker is right for every person or every game. I run modded A5's normally for scenario. But we decided for something a little different for D-Day last year.

If you want to keep it real simple....for all the weather that may be at D-Day, I would say a 98. You don't have to worry about electronics, timing, etc.
There is a reason why there are more 98's as rentals then there is any other marker....you can throw them in the dirt, throw them in water, throw them in sand and they still work.

D-day 2006 I used a WGP Nightkast
D-day 2007 I used a Dye DM6
D-day 2008 I'm planning on using my Camo Black Magic or one of my Worrlocks

Personally I would say stay away from the milsim markers. They just add extra weight to carry around and dont really do anything other than "look cool." If you dont have much money a 98custom would be an excellent choice.

Nice gear for those who can afford high end markers.

Ill take all the abuse, but I still love my Ion. You will have to pry it from my cold, dead fingers before I give it up. For less than 200 bucks it provides reliable, efficient and accurate performance. They do require a modest amount TLC however. Now, if you want something that can take abuse, neglect, hard use then Staticline has the right answer. A 98. We also run an A5 and an X7. Both fine markers. You cant go wrong with a Tippmann

SP-1 hands down. Virtually water proof. 11 BPS, 3 modes of fire. Will shoot air OR CO2 equally well. Easy to maintain and is a STEAL for $150 or so....bring extra batts and you are set for DDay.

The game isnt that expensive. Its the travel expenses that get you going to D-Day...

$70 pre Reg and $70 a case. That is just slightly higher then a regular two day event. The paint is a little higher, but they do make a special batch due to the intense heat you can run into in Oklahoma in the middle of June...

Now $800 for gas to get there, and hotel fee (if your a wuss like me)... There is your money right there. Plane tickets, car rental... I'll stop now before I disuade someone form going.

This its kinda a stacked question because everyone's opinion will vary, but in all reality the best gun to play with at d-day is whatever you are most comfortable with and are used to the most. Whether its a Pump, Mechanical, or Eletro it matters not as long as you can play well with it and can keep it maintained during the week of the event.

Me .. i am bringing a Mini, Shocker, and a E-mag
  • Mini cause its new and I want to play with it
  • Shocker cause its lighter then my e-mag, fast, and easy to maintain.
  • E-mag cause it always works and can be run without a battery if need be.

If it isn't going to rain use your ion ,but if it supposed to rain or their is a chance it might a mech cocker is nice to have. Personally, I think the best mech guns are cockers. Also if you are sure you want to get rid of your ion get a cocker or an sp1. Stay away from milsim high pressure blowback stuff like tippmanns, all the stuff on them is useless weight. The magazines and barrel shrouds don't make it more realistic because they didn't have m4's and ak's on d-day.
