Exclamation G4 Air Leak!!!!1

i set my G4 down after a game and all of a sudden a loud pop and air leak sound slond came from my gun. the air came out of the screw that holds the macrol line under the reg. i know it was this peice because i flipped the macrol line and other peices to diffrent sides and the problum was in the same place.when i took the reg off i could easily blow through even though it seemed as the air was being stopped when i turn the asa back on. when i turn the asa on the same thing happens: air rappidly blows from the screw under the reg like there is no air flow. yet i can blow through whole air system......any help would be nice on what to do. if i had misinturprited the problum or need a new peice please say so!!!

So you have a leak out of the adjustment screw on your reg, where you adjust the velocity with an allen wrench? Or is it leaking from the piece you push the macroline into?

edit: spencer im 99% sure i know what oring it is, happened to me twice.

you need to remove the regulator "collar"

its the piece that swivels a 360* circle. Its held in my a set screw. Remove the set screw and pull the collar off. If it stays on, you need to remove the air fitting as well. Once the collar is off you should see an oring blown out of place. Replace it, dont reuse it. Clean the reg off, regrease the two orings and put it back together. If you had to take the fitting off, you must use blue loctite on it and give it 24hours to seal. Make sure the fitting isnt screwed in to far.. you need it flush with the inside of the collar.

If this is not the issue, it might be the velocity adjustment screw's oring.. remove the adjustment screw and inspect it. When reinstalling the screw, screw it all the way in BUT NOT TO TIGHT and air up the marker, slowly bring the screw out (counterclockwise) until the marker starts to fire. then use a crono to set the regulator.

EDIT: this is for a SPEC r regulator or any older model DP reg. the g4 is different, see post BELOW V V V

G4's regulator is like a CP regulator... the macrofitting is on the bottom of the reg.... it'd be easier to understand if this guy could speak decent english (im gunna hope for his sakes that english is his second language) but from what it sounds like he just needs to teflon tape or BLUE loctite the macro fitting threads.

okay first, he needs to EXPLAIN REAL good and maybe take a picture of the spot that is leaking. How bad is the leak.. if its a big rush of air, its an orings.. if its a slight leak it could be the fitting.

he tried to say that the regulator is not holding pressure or something like that

if you look at page 10 of the g4 manual you will see the regulator broken down

the oring on part F, G, and I need to be checked. Same with the macrofittings.. he should just replace the fittings anyways.

sorry i was very tired when i wrote that...the air is leaking from the elow fitting.it seems a if the air dosent flow through the reg so it just leaks out there. yet i can reomve the reg and air flows through that. i eas thinking there is a slight clog in th bottom of the reg or the top of the elbow fitting

i say use blue loctite, its not as messy as tape. Just a little needed on the threads and let it set for 24hours before airing up
