honestly, if they havent fixed the crashing issue with the blackjacks, i wouldnt want one. all of our brass in our department, approx 300 units, have them, and we have had to replace at least 2/3 of them because they would freeze up after getting so many emails.
ive tried to convince the county to go with q's or blackberries, but they dont want a blackberry because it would require a BES, and well, its just a pain. just keep that in mind if you get lots of emails.

our department has had to send them all back to verizon. they gave them new ones. considering we have probably 1100 phones or more in the entire county, we can pretty much say, give us that phone at 5$ each and they would probably jump.
im not sure if it was just a bad batch of OS installs on the phones, or if it was a corrupt phone im not sure. but i know my supervisor and her supervisor both have had their phones replaced twice. after they get them, they tend to fail after about 3 weeks or so. and i KNOW they get TONS of emails.. so *shrug* im not sure

if you dont get any emails i would assume they would be good phones. but after our dept has had so many issues, i went with a blackberry.
considering i get 200+ emails a day, i cant be plagued by a troublesome phone i like the looks of the blackjacks thou

wifi is just that, wifi. you should be able to access any access point that has the proper a,b,g service that the blackjack will use. otherwise, yes ull need a data plan..
