That's a fine setup. I don't know what pod pack, but try to sell/trade off that Halo 2, get a sleeker, more versatile hopper ; Rotor, Z2, Spire, your preference,

determining mask

I am thinking about getting a JT flex 8 full coverage mask. the protection is one part but i really like the look. I have a JT flex 8 now and really like it but was wondering if anyone out there has used the full coverage one and what they though. Thanks!

It you do not absolutely need the extra protection, I would not suggest it. Those can get really warm during the summer.

Hey all, here's what I'm using now.

Ego11 stock
Dye rotor
Ninja 68/4500
I4s and grill
Dye assault 4+5
Dye sleeves
The newer exalt pants forgot the name of them though
Usually wear a tank top but I really need to invest in a jersey.
Anything else anyone suggest I need would be greatly appreciated. I started out w tippmann to g4 etek 4 and here I am now a little more serious than I used to be so any advice would be awesome

Looks great! I prefer a bounce vest to a jersey, but either is good for getting bounces and less welts.

I would also suggest looking into knee pads.

Yea definitely right about the kneepads. Padding on the pants really only help so much.

Just ordered my first setup...what do you guys think.

After several weeks of reading reviews, watching reviews and lurking on PBNation. I have finally ordered my first setup.

Marker
- Planet Eclipse Etha (Green/Black)

Air System
- Empire Carbon 68/4500 HPA Tank

Loader
- Empire Halo Too

Mask
- Proto Axis Pro (Olive Camo)

Keep in mind that i will be playing recball/woodsball mainly.
I still need to pick up a decent jersey, tank cover and possibly gloves.

Sounds like a very good setup for a first-timer, I would pass on the gloves and go for a better route and get elbow pads and knee pads. I recommend Exalt for elbow pads and planet eclipse for knee pads.

would elbow pads really be necessary with a padded jersey?....have been eyeing the PE knee pads, from what everyone says they seem to be at the top of their game.

If you are going to be any grawling around, get knee and elbow pads.

They are nice to have either way to help with bounces.

I find the jersey padding to be a joke in alot of cases, I went out on saturday and got my whole left arm lit up from being bunkered and if I didnt have those elbow pads I would be in a world of pain. So definatly take the route on elbow pads. The Exalt elbow pads have thumb holes and extra fabric over your hand so it gives it some protection.

Welcome to paintball!!! since you're going to be playing recball / woodsball. you'll be fine with a regular black shirt and some army fatigue pants, as far as shoes, I mainly wear high top football cleats ($20 at a sporting goods store) and they do just fine in the woods. As far as pads go, you can get some nice knee pads at a sporting goods store for a cheap price. And definitely get some arm pads at a paintball site or proshop, that's a must! Good luck, it's an awesome hobby! mainly a lifestyle! And no need for gloves, there are armpads that covers a good portion of your hands so you'll be good to go.

Was just looking at the Exalt elbow pads, they seem as if you would get hot as hell with them on specially living here in Florida..where wearing longpants and shirts gets hot enough.

A lot of arm pads have awesome ventilation, I have Planet Eclipse arm pads and you can't even feel them on and my arms doesn't feel hot and sweaty and i've played in a lot of humid days this past summer. And as far as long pants goes, you can wear shorts as long as you have knee pads on.

I live and play in Texas where the humidity/heat is somewhat comparable to Florida and play in a pair of good camo valken zulu pants (I didn't go with BDU pants due to lack of ventilation) and usually an athletic t shirt of some kind that's very breatheable. While bounces are awesome, my biggest rival has always been the heat and breathing/keeping up in it when under the trees. Knee pads and elbow pads are high on the list, and the above mentioned before are great. If you feel serious about gloves there's decent Mechanix gloves you can get that are pretty decent at local hardware for cheap-ish. You can push your hand on the ground and you won't feel the rocks or twigs as much at least.

I found a pair of very light but durable high top hiking shoes (not heavy boots) for $20 that work perfectly for stubbing my toe repeatedly and walking through creeks and whatnot without falling over and screaming for a medical chopper all day long. Protective equipment for elbows and knees are pretty important, and for those I go for breathability more so than massive amounts of padding or cool looks. Protect yourself!
